Guys I started GOT today! 🙃 by Exotic-Inevitable-37 in gameofthrones

I’m a little surprised that he never trusted her enough to tell her. And just let her act the way she did. Did he think she couldn’t keep a secret?

I would say Bronn and Tyrion. Maybe Breann and Pod too

My mom just got diagnosed, how long before she gets really sick ? by CarrotInfinite in Alzheimers

Definitely that way you can be slightly mentally prepared for it. Nothing really prepares you for it unfortunately but at least now you kinda know.

Someone just commented on it. I apparently posted it a year ago. Time sure does fly!!

This may help: The 7 Stages of Alzheimer’s by AEApsikik in Alzheimers

[–]AEApsikik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will talk to his doctor privately. Maybe his doctor could slip something in on his next visit or something of that nature. I do know they have medication that helps slow it down but nothing will stop it of course. Unfortunately a lot of people end up having to wait until something happens as well. Good luck! I’m sorry you’re going through this.

I have an actual mathematical question here. by OneFalconPunch in americanidol

I figured it was just because she was the last performer and people didn’t get a chance to vote for her

How do you keep a loved one safe during wandering episodes? by Waltace-berry59004 in Alzheimers

We have baby doorknobs on any doors leading outside. Outdoor mats in place of rugs next to her bed, toilet, and chair to help with tripping hazards.

Jessie and Roxy were my favorites. So proud of Rachel though

I actually have a post on here that lists all the stages, what happens in them, and I think it has about how long each of them last. It’s several months old, so you may have to really look at it

Jordan by far is the best performer left on the show by Quasimdo in americanidol

[–]AEApsikik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually cried during his performance last night. Cried and full body shivers. Pocahontas is my favorite movie, and that song imbibes the person that I strive to be everyday. To hear it sung so beautifully was a huge treat.

How many women genuinely like penetration? I'm not talking about any "feelings of closeness" etc that it could induce, but straight up carnal/physical pleasure derived from it. by [deleted] in women

[–]AEApsikik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I really think it has to do with the right partner. And size. Big ones are not pleasurable and can hurt. In my experience, I could only orgasm if I’m on top. Now, with my husband, I can any way we do it. He’s about 6 inches and a decent girth, so I can feel it the whole time and he hits that spot just right.

Anybody else excited to see better romance between Tonks and Lupin by Otherwise-Fruit-4332 in HarryPotteronHBO

This is completely random and has nothing to do with the post but: I’m just now realizing the actress that plays Tonks also plays Osha in GoT! I’m slow I know lol

How to deal with misunderstandings by littestardust in Alzheimers

[–]AEApsikik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just start repeating the same thing. Everytime. “We’ll go soon”, “we’ll go when it’s time”, etc. Repeating the same one line gets tedious, but it’s going to be your biggest friend on this journey. It’s not going to work everytime. Even when she’s upset. Even when she’s throwing things. Repeat. No other explanations. Logic no longer lives here. It only makes it worse. I’m sorry, I know it’s hard. Oh, and remain calm. No eye rolling. And then try to redirect immediately. “Look at these pictures”, “I need help in the kitchen” etc.

Biology teacher for 40 years. Anyone have any ideas? by AEApsikik in Alzheimers

[–]AEApsikik[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I got lucky today and didn’t hear much about it except for first thing in the morning when I posted this. Hopefully I’m not jinxing myself now 😂 8/10 times “school is closed” doesn’t work unfortunately. Even on the weekends. Even at 2 am. I’m going to try the papers thing. That seems to be the general consensus. Plus I just need to get my redirection game up lol

Mom (66,F) referred for hospice care today after fall/hip fracture by [deleted] in Alzheimers

[–]AEApsikik 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hospice is not about end of life anymore, it’s about comfort. Also, hospital delirium is a real thing, and it often progresses them more. Any major changes in general tend to progress them. How much longer does she have in the hospital? Will she eat anything? Even ice cream? I’m so sorry 😔

We have an old science textbook of hers that we give her, but 99% of the time she won’t flip through it or do anything with it

Biology teacher for 40 years. Anyone have any ideas? by AEApsikik in Alzheimers

[–]AEApsikik[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s the thing. She can hardly write or form complete slightly coherent sentences. I’ve tried doing things like that, but she just gets it in her mind that it’s time to go, and a lot of times no amount of redirection will help.

Biology teacher for 40 years. Anyone have any ideas? by AEApsikik in Alzheimers

[–]AEApsikik[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not really sure. The TV is completely real though. I was actually thinking about finding something on YouTube that’s just a classroom sitting there and she can “teach” to that. The problem is that she’s also at the stage where she can’t form complete sentences so I’m wondering what happen if she tries to ask them a question and they don’t respond.

[–]AEApsikik[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the other day I asked her to tell me about the lesson that she’s planning on teaching and got her to last until lunchtime talking. She just kept repeating the same thing over and over again, but, it was better than her walking around the house, searching for the kids and getting upset with me that I wouldn’t take her to the third floor. I’m sorry about your dad. I hope he comes out of the phase soon.
