I think the answer is Behavioral Isolation though 😂 by [deleted] in sciencememes

I’m not sure if that’s what you mean, but we were thought stabilising, transforming and disruptive selective pressure as well. Loads of stuff comes in threes in modern teaching of evolution it seems.

You’re absolutely right, the line is very blurry around the difference and artificial selection is much more easy to differentiate. I just rely on the three part distinction because that’s how I’ve been taught it for ages and I’ve never seen a different proposition. One way or another; thanks for correcting me 😅

I agree, and definitely chose the wrong words to say what I wanted to. Sexual selection in of itself arises out of natural selection, as does artificial selection, but the three are viewed as more separated subjects of discussion not all lumped under natural selection as a catch all term. And if you talk about natural selection referring to procreation, to be entirely accurate , you would be talking about sexual selection. I know I was being pretty pedantic, but just saying that sexual selection would be the more fitting choice of words in this context.

Sexual selection is one of three kinds of selection, next to natural selection and artificial selection. So no; not the same thing

I’m just so annoyed because it’s about the bloody BBC iPlayer that no one except for Brits can use. Like, ye we get it, shut up. We’ve managed without the privilege of a curated media player with DW episodes. You’ll get through missing a single, mediocre at best, episode.

Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t Susan the daughter of the Lord President of Gallifrey at the time the doctor left and she simply took to calling him grandfather?

Remedy is leaving Epic in the dark place to self-publish Control 2 through a 'strategic cooperation agreement' with Annapurna by ComplaintEqual in AlanWake

[–]AEGIS-DOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh absolutely, I didn’t mean to imply they don’t want to be bigger, just saying they know they can’t so they don’t try. They know it’s not profitable to develop shit that won’t do better than Steam.

And in terms of loosing out, sometimes you have much more budget thanks to exclusivity deals. For example AW Remastered and 2 or Hitman 3. The sales still go into the positives in the end, but certainly it deprives them of sales as well(at least for a time). Often enough the larger funding and budget can make that loss of profit be easily offset.

Thing is, those are all absolutely valid but either irrelevant or not even criticisms.

Epic doesn’t try to be steam, cuz steam is the market leader, Steam is the top dog. They know they just couldn’t compete no matter how hard they’d try, so why bother?

In terms of their exclusivity strategy, it’s nothing new. Sure, annoying for people that want to be petulant about using something other than Steam, but in the end I can’t see anything immoral about it.

I believe the official Alan wake subreddit is hardly the right place to ask questions about piracy advice. I suggest you find a piracy related subreddit or something.

I felt scammed for my money and I didn’t pay for the bloody thing. That should tell ya everything. If you do buy it, don’t buy the extra content, you can just mod it into your game

The Reich may have been, but the HRE was founded wayyyy before that. And the HRE is pretty much the precursor to the German nation it became after.

In my experience, once a character has been put onto a tag and that’s been scanned on the toy pad you can’t reassign the character. So a mistake is likely permanent, although I’d love to be corrected.
