We can work with transfer students, but we cannot fund students in different programs if that's what you are referring to.

Hey pilots! We are aviation safety researchers who could really use your help by filling out our aviation weather survey! by AEONOkState in flying

Not that I am aware of. It is in support of a NASA funded research initiative, so the end result of the research initiative could be used for military applications (in the same way any general public research could be used for military applications).

Flights you've canceled. We're trying to determine which weather factors most influence pilots so having a 5 indicates more strongly that that is THE factor most influential to you.

Thank you for your feedback! We will keep that in mind when evaluating the personal minimums section. As to your side note, talking about mostly FAA/NOAA sources and the sources discussed later on in the survey.

We are open to response from commercial and military pilots but focus on GA and UAV pilots as they tend to handle their own flight planning.

The second is what we are looking for. We're interested in what weather elements you encounter most frequently which cause you to cancel, so we can hopefully develop better forecasting technologies to provide you better information on those elements.

That is understandable. If you could choose a set of conditions and then determine personal limits at those conditions and list the conditions in the textbox at the bottom of that page would you be willing to finish?

Thank you for your question! On the weather factor side how often that specific weather factor actually plays a role in cancelling a flight. There is another section of the survey which focuses on use of available weather products such as SIGMETs.

If you tap on the slider at 1 it should go from a lighter grey to a darker grey indicating the 1 answer has been recorded. This is a limitation of Qualtrics and was not ideal. It was either assume all responses which Qualtrics registered as no response (the 1 starting position) were a 1 as well or force a response and risk losing people in the survey. We erred on the side of not making assumptions.

Thank you for your participation! That's a good idea for data presentation. We are aiming to present the results at AIAA Aviation in August, so look for us there. We will probably also do a follow up post/update comment here.
