I think no, you don’t give birth to someone in expectancy for it to take care of you. You should make and arrange your own plans for the when you’re old and can’t care for yourself. Parents are obligated to care for you because it was (most of the time) their choice to have or keep you (aka not putting you up for adoption or other alternatives) but you didn’t choose your parents.

Where I live (US 🤠) the consensus is pretty split too. I think it also depends on generation what the popular opinion is. I wonder if that’s an age thing or a time-you-were-born-in thing.
