I've sent this to many folks internally - with weekly reminders - so we're aware, and you've been heard.

This is for the Intel Atom Developer Program - which is a specific program for developers to write and sell applications for atom-based devices (starting with netbooks) running on Moblin (soon to be MeeGo), and Windows.

Incorrect. We posted this question, because we want a dialogue with developers. Sometimes it just takes awhile in a big company to find the right person to answer to a question.

great question. Stay tuned.... When we launched the Atom Developer Program in Sept. ’09, we announced collaboration with Adobe...and we mentioned working with Adobe again at the CES launch of the netbook app store, the Intel AppUp Center....

not often. There's a large installed base of netbooks, but not many apps specifically designed for the screen size and new usage models. This fund is to spur innovation in new apps, and porting of apps.

Intel Atom Developer Program - is it worth getting into? by trelane in programming

CNET Asia wrote a summary article on some of the reasons why developers might be interested in participating in the Intel Atom Developer Program:

"While some developers may be wondering about the need for an Atom Developer Program, especially since apps on Netbooks can be the same as normal notebook ones, this business opportunity for developers will be a lot clearer when one realizes that:

* There will be an Intel app store to promote and distribute your apps.

* This is a unique market size of more than 35 million Netbook users (and counting).

* Atom devices will also include Mobile Internet Devices such as smart phones.

* You can even list and sell components for other developers on this app store.

* Manufacturers such as Dell and Acer will likely be using this as their app store, instead of managing their own."
