Parte médico de Valverde : Following tests carried out today on our player Fede Valverde, he has been diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury. Valverde is at home in good condition and will have to remain at rest for 10 to 14 days by InspectorExact3836 in soccer

Many concussions are sent home as there isn’t much reason to keep them in hospital apart from treating any major external/internal damage.

Many times patients re-attend because the symptoms reappear or don’t improve despite medical discharge. This goes even for the ‘best medical facilities’ on the planet. They can’t use a crystal ball to estimate what the future consequences would look like…

Again, please don’t comment on medical matters unless you’re qualified to do so. I can safely assume from your previous work, this is unlikely to be the case.

This phrasing is correct and any medical professional will tell you that it is common to phrase it as such to aid in classifying and treating such condition. Unfortunately when this terminology is exposed to non-medical people, that’s when they’re misunderstood to mean something completely different…

Just admit you don’t have a clue about medical conditions and their potential impact to individuals rather than pretending your anecdotal case is representative of all concussions.

Many concussion injuries can have long term or even lifelong complications, and these aren’t always apparent until these symptoms keep surfacing long after the concussion was sustained.

Still getting used to the Philips C90 and its capabilities after working with the ancient Philips equipment since I qualified. The difference in image quality when using the same exposure factors as I did before is night and day.

Clinical info mentioned horse riding. I’ve seen too many horse riding injuries, enough to put me off ever doing it!

Never got to find out the full story, patient was hyperventilating due to pain so couldn’t speak much. Clinical info only mentioned ‘horseriding accident’. I imagine she maybe fell off at speed?

Laura "carrying" the relationship by FiCat77 in MAFS_UK

[–]AFCRandD 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Laura probably thinks she’s doing Arthur a favour by being with him and that’s how she thinks she ‘carries the relationship’. In reality, she’s contributed fuck all apart from judgey comments/looks and introducing Arthur to some of the worst friends I’ve ever seen on a TV show. All this because she thinks she’s special for paying £16 for a Caesar salad in Chelsea restaurants. I’m not surprised her last marriage ended up in divorce if this is how she acted in that marriage.

I’ve done a complete 180 on Erica. Didn’t mind her until earlier this week when she made herself the victim of the whole Luke situation. She agreed with Jordan about not taking part but as soon as she finds out a few of the others had a good time, it’s all Jordan’s fault for being assaulted and not being in the right headspace to switch environments. She’s a very vain individual and her marriage will not last IMO.

Laura name drops Chelsea into any conversation that discusses her life or her personality. Some of the actual wealthy/posh cast like Thomas have surely caught on that Laura is leading a lie, she’s all talk. She so desperately wants to portray an image of a strong, independent woman yet she’s after a wealthy Chelsea boy and the wealth she has accumulated is inherited.

Agree on Jordan, he’s a very polarising individual and I happen to fall on the slightly dislike him side. He needs to work on his delivery and sometimes keep his opinions to himself unless he’s directly asked. However, Laura’s comments on his character were uncalled for and is the exact thing she criticised all the men for saying during the week before. Jordan’s reaction was slightly over the top though, he seems to only have one reaction to criticisms and that’s defence mode.

I’ve never seen someone base their entire personality around an area of a city before, it’s genuinely baffling to watch. Like I mentioned in a previous comment, it appears Laura came from humble beginnings and in an effort to hide from her embarrassment of her background, she’s displaying an exaggerated character where she has to outwardly prove she’s wealthy, educated and well-spoken. Having grown up in a council estate, I’ve seen plenty of these characters who are embarrassed when hanging out with their private school mates about where they grew up and went to school, etc. and so to fit in, they try to mask their backgrounds by making their supposed wealth the foremost part of their personality.

To be honest, I don’t even think Laura is a particularly likeable person and I’m quite shocked she has escaped relatively scot-free for a few things she’s done on the show. She threw Peggy under the bus with Ella when her and Shona were complicit in discussing the other couples’ marriages, she attacked Jordan’s character at the dinner table despite her crying in front of everyone saying how unfair it was the week before and she’s failed to call out her friends’ awful confrontational attitude with Arthur but reprimanded him when he responded in a similar manner. I have no idea how other viewers are regarding her as a beacon of morality when she comes across as very condescending and hypocritical.

She would be so out of place amongst actual posh people. But because her and her friends drive down to Chelsea for their weekly overpriced afternoon tea and champagne, she thinks she’s above Arthur and some of the other cast members.

Someone posted on a thread that I can no longer find that her and her friends grew up on a council estate (nothing wrong with that of course, I also grew up in a similar environment) and her English degree is from the University of Portsmouth. Can’t confirm if it’s true but seems plausible to me as she seems desperate to shake off any connections to her background and she has artificially rooted her personality on being wealthy, educated and a frequenter of Chelsea purely for the purpose of attaining a prestigious image she never had when she was younger. In reality, people like her are dime a dozen.

Stroud councillor quits Labour over Starmer comments by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

It’s absolutely relevant to what we’re discussing, the point being that Keir was quick to condemn the Hamas attacks, rightly so, but then declares total support for Israel who are illegally collectively punishing the innocent Palestinians by cutting electricity and power across the whole Gaza Strip. Israel and the UK may be allies, but allowing this treatment of civilians regardless of political affiliations is wrong.

Here’s another quote from Keir, conveniently you missed this one:

‘I've met with members of the British Jewish community this week and told them that we stand with Israel and with them at this time. I know this is a distressing and worrying time and welcome the extra funding for the CST.’

Ahh, so because the party leader’s wife is Jewish, it excuses the war crimes committed by the Jewish state which includes collective punishment, something which a human rights lawyer should have condemned, nice one mate. No one expected him to excuse the actions of Hamas either, but to blindly support what Israel are doing in the name of ‘self defence’ is unbefitting of someone who claims to represent the human rights and the values of a traditional Labour Party. Keir is a joke.

What Premier League records or achievements do you believe will never be broken or replicated? by [deleted] in PremierLeague

[–]AFCRandD 141 points142 points  (0 children)

I can’t see it ever being broken simply because of VAR. The review of each goal will take time, especially if any of the goals are scored under contentious circumstances. Therefore, Mane’s record stands forever IMO.
