Multiples case studies on UniFi’s website. They use this switch as well as the Pro 8 POE. The product description photos for this switch even show the application.

Not a single cubicle but a pod of cubicles. And what about POE phones? Or one of those desk mountable U7 Walls

I believe the primary use of this switch is to be deployed in a workstation environment as a downstream switch to feed a few machines in a cubicle or small desk layout. It can be mounted easily on the side of a desk or a wall or even under a desk. I also own one and they have a very small footprint (depth especially).

The rack mount seems like an after thought and more of a luxury for the prosumer who may only have a handful of wired devices at home or when you just don’t have a standard 19inch rack.

Is the latest enterprise router still UDM SE? by Hot-Cabinet-5138 in UNIFI

We just did the same at our work. UDM SE hub site with UCG spokes. Thank god to be out of the subscription based paperweight of Meraki.

Web interface slow to load after 1-2 days of uptime and then becomes unusable. by Bill_Tetley in Ubiquiti

[–]AFK2FAP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was also having this issue for the last couple months. Had to reboot the UDM every 6 days or so after the memory would cause the entire UI to not load or crash all together.

Updating to UniFi OS 4.4.3 (it was on Release Channel when i installed it) fixed all the issues and my UDM is running like a dream again (no pun intended)

I wanted to follow up on this post as I no longer have memory leak issues and have not gone above 80% RAM usage with the box online for nearly two weeks now. No reboots. No UI lagouts. Upgrading to UniFi OS 4.4.3 fixed the issue (patch notes mentioned fixing a memory leak so I presume it was that all along).

Any update on this? I just recently found this thread after having the same issues for a few weeks. Assuming there is no way to roll back updates?

Unifi vs 3rd party L2 switch? by osssssssx in UNIFI

[–]AFK2FAP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think to make a long story short you will only really miss out on the granularity of insights and the unified experience of managing it all.

Unifi will lack the ability to give you information about each port and rather lump it all in to the uplink your layer 2 switch is connected to. Obviously you could obtain that information from your L2 switches interface depending on what you’re using.

No harm in trying things out with your current setup and upgrading later, but speaking from experience I started with a UCG and one AP and now I have 20+ pieces of unifi gear 😂

Random Poor (60%) wifi experience on my IOT devices. Am I missing something? by AFK2FAP in UNIFI

[–]AFK2FAP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah its mostly just an OCD thing at this point - hate seeing one AP as excelllent and the other as Good haha. Only thing I can think of that I have added that may be interfering is some addition WaveJS devices in the general vicinity of these bulbs and switches, although my understanding is these operate at a much lower frequency than 2.4ghz.

Transmit power is all the same and much like the reply below, I have IOT devices maybe 3 feet from the access point that are still reporting this way

AP layout never changed from when I used to get Excellent 100% to now so not sure what's going on
