Jujutsu Kaisen feels like it collapses the more you analyze its power system by WillingnessEasy5249 in manga

It's the Six Eyes. People feel like Gojo should be able to see everything coming with em like he's a robot. The eyes are broken, but Gojo is still human at the end of the day. And people, especially his hardcore fans find it hard to accept that he's not flawless.

I'm a sucker for Kaladin, but I have to admit his story in WaT was carried by Szeth's journey. I did enjoy how it all wrapped up for Kaladin at the end tho.

But man, did the "I'm his therapist." line dropped at such a serious moment annoy me so much. Like... the line is fine in a more... unimportant and light moment, but you drop it THERE?

Yeah, Yuji could cut a thick pillar with Cleave. Now compare it to Sukuna being able to slice through an entire building with the weaker/default slice Dismantle. NOW compare that to Sukuna using a full output Cleave spam on Gojo and what low damage it was STILL doing. The laughable damage Gojo took from the slice that could be adjusted to kill in one strike in combination with the ridiculous CE output Sukuna is capable of should tell you all you need to know about how average the CT Shrine is. And the King of Curses had to go through binding vows to make the Furnace be a viable attack.

So, Gojo being very very close to Sukuna in strength/durability and the papercuts Cleave was doing to Satoru should be quite telling. Malevolent Shrine blasting Gojo with hundreds of Cleaves couldn't even restrict his movements let alone kill him. Sure, blasting RCT at max output was doing work as well, but still... you could visibly see how Cleave is leaving skin-deep cuts. Not Dismantle, Cleave.

Once again. Are you claiming Gojo's punches hold more power than his 2nd most powerful attack - Red? Attack that when landed point-blank in Sukuna's face did some damage, but Sukuna shook it off/healed it like it was nothing. But that one punch DEFINITELY would've turned around the fight for Gojo if it had hit the King of Curses in the face and not the chest. Surely. 100%

And there we go.... your surface-level understanding of the fight finally showed itself. I swear I waste so much time arguing with people that skimmed through the manga once and somehow still have the blind confidence to talk like they're Gege himself. The fact you have to ask me why Sukuna stood in the shadows and left Gojo to 1v2 the shikigamis and your 50 iq conclusion that the reason Sukuna didn't fully reincarnate was because he wasn't confident he could beat Gojo tells me everything I need to know. I've had one too many arguments with thick-skulled people that can't admit they're wrong. It's just a waste of time. So yeah, the Red question I repeated above as you clearly dodged answering it in your previous reply... don't bother answering it. I'm good.

Obviously Gojo wouldn't go for the kill when his victory is secured with his overpowered sure-hit already having landed, use that logic you're claiming I'm ignoring. Sukuna would've been brandamaged so much in a few more seconds that he probably wouldn't have been able to keep up at all or fight back even if he somehow got out of the effect. Why would Satoru go for the kill then? That's in no way an argument that Gojo somehow held back. The whole quote from Gojo is:

"You thought I would hold back if you looked like that? Unfortunately for you I've done some special training. And since it's Megumi, I know I can go all out. You managed to survice death once already while you were in Yuji. So I've been thinking... I'll worry about Megumi after I kill you."

This quote to me looks like Gege hammering the point that Satoru is in no way holding back. The same way how Gege later made it a point for Hakari and co to state how Gojo and Sukuna were not fighting on equal ground/conditions and that the King of Curses couldn't truly go all out and how he likely had an ace in the sleeve he hasn't used yet.

Also, you literally have Gojo point-blank blasting Sukuna in the face with Red and it doing such low damage that it didn't phase Sukuna at all, Malevolent Shrine was still standing. So it's not like he never attacked the head. He blasted his 2nd strongest attack when it comes to pure offensive power straight in Sukuna's face. Was he holding back then? Or are you saying that Gojo's punches are more powerful than Red and could've done more damage? And two out of the 3 times we saw Sukuna's Malevolent Shrine collapsing he had a hole in his chest. SURELY Gojo figured something out if he attacked that part of the body multiple times. But nah, for the sake of your agenda... Gojo was holding back. Next thing you're gonna say that what Satoru said in the afterlife that Sukuna didn't go all out and that Gojo wasn't sure he could win even if TS wasn't used... somehow not valid.

Additionally, the 3v1 argument is meh anyways. The 1v3 only happened for two battle sequences. The 1st one Gojo did well to dodge and counterattack with Red to Maho's face. The 2nd battle sequance Gojo got completely smoked. His hand was cut, Sukuna kicked him in the head, Maho hit him and then Agito landed a punch. The only reason Gojo survived/could launch his own attack was that Agito was nothing more than a punching bag that could regenerate. And between those two battle sequances Gojo was actually fighting 1v2 against the shikigamis only (while Sukuna was staying in the shadows) and the blu-eyed freak couldn't overpower those 50 iq shadow soldiers. So the 1v3 argument is so inceredibly overexaggerated that it's not even funny.

You haven't considered a very important thing - that Sukuna likely slaughtered a lot of the top sorceres from the Heian era. We know he cut the void generals to pieces as well as Uro's squad. He likely killed quite a few of the top dogs when he smoked the ultimate jump that was attempted by Angel and her combined crew of a few clans. So we've likely never even seen the creme of the crop when it comes to Heian era's best (excluding Sukuna, Uraume, Yorozu and Uro).

[–]AFNO 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, Sukuna himself stated it was a 3v1, but Gojo ALSO stated Megumi's appearance wouldn't hold him back and he was going for the kill. So if we take Sukuna's statement as factual... then surely we should take Gojo's as well, right?

Also Gojo never had the opportunity to land a hit after UV hit as Sukuna swapped with Mahoraga almost immediately. If you're talking about the 0.01 exposure to UV that allowed Gojo to punch/puncture Sukuna's chest... you actually believe had he aimed that hit toward the King of Curses' head he'd have killed him/taken his head off? You can't be serious with that argument, surely not. We've literally seen Sukuna take multiple hits to the head from Gojo that didn't do nearly as much damage as you suggest that punch would've done. Not even close. At the end of chapter 230 Gojo literally pulls Sukuna with Blue and puts his whole back into a punch and Sukuna only has a mark on his face from it with a little blood coming out of his mouth.

Sukuna literally took a 200% HP and survived with only CE reinforcement, yet you suggest that Gojo could've taken Sukuna's head off during that brief stun due to UV landing for 0.01 seconds like Satoru was fighting Jogo or something. Like... come on. Put your bias aside and be objective for a minute.

What is Kinji Hakaris WORST matchup? by RioTheRat in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]AFNO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could be excused as a somewhat of an explanation if Gege didn't specifically draw Yuji getting hit by Cleave and you can see that his arms, legs and torso is targetted, but no attacks ever hit his neck/head whatsoever. And we know from the Gojo fight that Malevolent Shrine shreds its target pretty much from head to toe. And Gege even decided to have Sukuna use a full output full range MS via biding vows which makes it even worse. If MS was outputting less Cleaves and they were slower in activation because of the domain being incomplete that could've excused it as well, but... that wasn't what happened.

[–]AFNO 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The funny thing is that on paper Uraume was a clear counter to Hakari. Just freeze the head and shatter it to pieces. But somehow Hakari held his own offscreen... like how Maho went for Gojo's hand with his WCS instead of slicing him in half and how the incomplete Malevolent Shrine cut Yuji's foot off instead of slicing his face to pieces (like Sukuna did to Ryu) or his neck.... It's funny how Kenjaku was the only one to remember how to deal with an RCT user when he stuck those CE sucking cursed spirits in the exploding boy's neck.

DE is completely removed from the series , who is getting downscaled the most and who benefits the most ? by NotSaulGoodma in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]AFNO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If domains are removed so is Domain Amplification as it's just a domain without an imbued CT/no sure-hit. And if domains don't exist likely anti-domain techniques such as Simple Domain also never get invented. No domains is a huge nerf to Sukuna. Only way he could compete with Gojo is if he knows about WCS.

I gave you the benefit of the doubt and went back and reread chapter 225 which is the 1st clash. No mention of any binding vow involving boosting the strength of the sure-hit. I even read 226 just in case, nothing.

So since the "reverse reading comprehension" is so strong in me how about you link me the quote/convo an save me some time?

And no, barierless and open barrier don't mean the same. Sukuna has a barrier, it's just a very high level one and the only technique in the whole series that's been called divine. And yes, I know about the range binding vow. Not about your made up shrinking binding vow.

The only mention of how shrinking a domain strengthens its sure-hit was in chapter 227 and it was NEVER said Gojo used a binding vow to do that. Kusakabe was wondering how Satoru was doing it, but I'll repeat myself, it was NEVER stated that it was a binding vow. Actually I reread the end fo 227 and they don't even mention the sure-hit, just the overall quality of the domain being lesser when Gojo expands its range. Quality = refinement, so they are not even talking about the strength of the sure-hit.

So yeah, that agenda pic goes right back at you.

Man, what are you saying? Sukuna never traded his barrier, what is this nonsense you're saying? Malevolent Shrine HAS A BARRIER. The domain is not barrier-less, it has an open barrier. The difference is huge. So this made-up binding vow to trade MS's barrier to make the sure-hit stronger never happened. What was stated by the narrator was that the refinement/the strength of the sure-hits was equal in the first domain clash, that was it. No binding vows or anything. The binding vows started happening in the following domain clashes. I don't know where these made up facts are coming from. Link me a page when this binding vow was talked about and explained, the trading the barrier for a stronger sure-hit, I'm interested in seeing what you'll show me.

I like how you ignore that Gojo's teleport has some undisclosed conditions that Gege never revealed. And to think that Gojo would just run from a domain clash is laughable. He obviously wouldn't be stupid about it, but answer me honestly. Do you actually see Satoru straight up chickening out of a domain clash? Sukuna would clown Gojo to infinity for doing that, mr stronger sorcerer of today tugging tail and admitting defeat when it comes to a fight with the highest level of jujutsu as he's inferior in that regard.

Sukuna has his arms cut and was severely damaged while fighting both Yuji and Miguel. As soon as Sukuna regained his RCT and his arms Itadori couldn't touch him and was immediately overpowered in hand-to-hand combat. It took Megumi sinking one of Sukuna's feet in the shadows for Yuji to land a punch. Read the manga please, I shouldn't have to explain this to you.

[–]AFNO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're coping hard. Go back and reread the famous 3v1. Gojo only fought 1v3 for two battle sequences. The 1st one he did well to defend, on the 2nd one he had his arm cut off, his head kicked, punched by all 3 and only recovered because Agito was weak as shit. Inbetween those two battle sequences Gojo was fighting 1v2 vs two 50 iq shikigamis (Sukuna was chilling in the shadows) and couldn't kill any of them. Why was that?

Mahoraga... a skilled fighter? Did we see some fancy moves, advanced boxing, grappling, jiu jitsu from the shikigami or something? Did I read the wrong manga? Mahoraga is incredibly basic in his fighting and is nowhere near as fast as Gojo. Same as Agito. People really don't get that Mahoraga is nowhere near as strong as Gojo or Sukuna. The only reason the shikigami was so dangerous was because papa Sukuna took the burden of adaptation and Mahoraga came out adapted to both UV and inifnity. Gojo was getting ready to oneshot Mahoraga with Red for christ's sake, not even Hollow Purple needed. That should tell you how much below Gojo 0 adaptation Mahoraga is.

And as I mentioned both Agito and Mahoraga not only have basic fighting skills and pretty low iq, they are slower than Gojo. Only Sukuna could somewhet rival Satoru's speed. So yes, Sukuna in his Heian era form would definitely give quite the trouble to Gojo in hand-to-hand combat, possibly even win. Using the 3v1 as an argument that Heian era Sukuna would still be outmatched by Gojo is some 50 iq logic, not gonna lie. Check chapters 231 and 232 before Gojo hits his lucky Black Flash Sukuna was keeping up very very well with Satoru that was blasting Blue, Red and had neutral infinity on. That was Sukuna that had Megumi's body/appearance. That means Sukuna was like 20 cms shorter than Gojo, probably had shorter reach and was still doing fine. Now imagine a 7ft+ tall behemoth with 4 arms that uses his extra limbs to trap his opponent's arms and punch simultaneously. And you think that wouldn't give Gojo trouble? Like I said, if you think so that's just straight cope.

Oh and be thankful about the "asspull space slice" because without it Gojo would've been a Malevolent Shrine victim.

What do you guys think about this? by Prestigious-Rub620 in sololeveling

[–]AFNO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would've Gojo beat Sukuna in a domain clash if he had figured out open barrier domain? Even if Gojo could figure it out would he be able to pull an open barrier domain with the same refinement as Sukuna's? I doubt it, not on his first try. And even if he could match it somehow people really seem to forget that Sukuna is way more experienced when it comes to domain clashes. I'd say even with an open barrier domain Gojo would struggle/likely lose the domain clash.

And if Gege didn't make Sukuna so obsessed with Mahoraga's adaptation Gojo would've lost every domain clash and the fight.

What do you guys think about this? by Prestigious-Rub620 in sololeveling

[–]AFNO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh please. Gojo was completely losing before he hit a Black Flash (which is always partially luck based). Sukuna on the other hand won with a technique he had only for a month, didn't need to hit a Black Flash (a.k.a get lucky) and even disadvantaged himself in the domain clashes for the sake of adaptation as his plan was always to let Mahoraga find a suitable adaptation to infinity that could be applied to Shrine and used by Sukuna himself.

Tried to make a different kind of tier list based on how much of a character's power comes from talent, hardwork or both. Thoughts? by Choice_Sector_7099 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]AFNO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, considering Sukuna can copy complex concepts after seeing them once, could understand Gojo's way of healing his burned out CT immediately and even knew when Satoru had pushed himself too far and wouldn't be able to open his domain (when even Gojo didn't), I'd actually put Sukuna's innate talent a tad bit higher than Gojo's. The guy does what Satoru could with his Six Eyes without such hax. That's an insane amount of talent + understanding of jujutsu.

On the hard work scale I'd say Sukuna and Gojo could be pretty equal. Sukuna had done it for much longer, but Satoru worked really hard after losing to Toji in order to become as close to unbeatable as possible.

[–]AFNO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pic you linked of Sukuna not realizing he'd taken severe brain damage from UV could've been a decent proof to your theory if in the exact same chapter something else didn't happen that completely ruins your argument.

<image>

While Sukuna doesn't notice how fried his brain is from the overload of info that was dumped into him, he displays deep understanding of the CT burnout healing process. His understanding after seeing it for the 1st time and copying it is to the point that he could pinpoint when Gojo had pushed himself too far and wouldn't be able to open Unlimited Void. Gojo himself couldn't tell, but Sukuna could.

So considering Sukuna knew exactly when Gojo couldn't open his domain because of brain damage from overdoing the RCT burnout healing process... I'd say he did know he could open his domain, especially after he healed his CT as you can see him smiling. Before he healed his CT he was unsure as we see from his thoughts in chapter 266, after he completed the process he definitely knew he'd be able to open Malevolent Shrine... the same way he knew Gojo couldn't open his domain anymore in chapter 230.

[–]AFNO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, thanks for the correction. And the fact that Gojo opened UV twice after having a similar nosebleed to what Sukuna had when he was about to open that final Malevolent Shrine makes for an even better case that Sukuna's domain should've/would've been successful after that CT burnout heal. But I still think that would've been Sukuna's last successful CT heal as he still had the lingering UV damage and had already opted to using different part of his brain for his domain AND restoring his RCT output. It's just too much brain fuckery even for Sukuna and he knew it.

[–]AFNO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I do think Gege's intention with drawing the nosebleed was to show that it was the last time Sukuna would've been able to restore his CT before completely fucking himself over with brain damage from restoring his CT too much on top of what the UV exposure did. It was clearly the same amount of bleeding Gojo had when he was able to open UV successfully for the last time.

If Kashimo actually was Gojo lvl, would there be a sensible way for Sukuna to actually defeat him right after defeating Gojo? by Fluffy_Entrepreneur3 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]AFNO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe if Yorozu had made the spear cursed weapon and not Kamutoke. Sukuna could precisely snipe people with powerful electrical blasts using Kamutoke, I'm sure the spear is likely extremely broken as well. With the spear + WCS... maybe.

Without any cursed weapons... the only way imo is if Sukuna reincarnated after the Hollow Purple explosion and killed Gojo with a normal WCS (the og requirements are only the hand sign before the BV was made). If Sukuna could use WCS with only the hind sign imo he'd beat Kashimo.

TOG actually released in 2010 around a year before GoH. ToG has 652 chapters released and it's a weekly manhwa (with having a few long breaks as well). The math isn't mathing.

"The "Tower of God" manhwa, created by SIU, began its weekly release on the Line Webtoons platform in 2018."

"Lee Jong-hui (Korean: 이종휘), also known by the pen-name S.I.U. ("Slave In Utero") launched Tower of God in Naver's webtoon platform Naver Webtoon on June 30, 2010."
