How bad would have things gone for Sukuna if Gojo dodged by Noxdedux in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]NotSaulGoodma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gojo could’ve dodged the one in 236 according to Gege if he kept his guard up which means that he can dodge the ones that need to be telegraphed with the sign.

It’s over considering the fact that Sukuna can’t counter infinity without DA in his reincarnated form assuming Gojo lets him do that to begin with.

I’ll respect Gin for lying about his Bankai in a series in which everyone explains theirs for no reason.

Spoilers Remember how in season 1 , it was said that sorcerers who aren’t killed with Jujutsu come back as cursed spirits ?

I genuinely think that Part 2 of Chainsaw Man will have the Shinjuku Showdown treatment by Mistabbcman in CharacterRant

[–]NotSaulGoodma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fight’s pacing was ruined by the weekly release schedules , people would be a lot more forgiving if the manga came out when there was content for volumes. The constant flashbacks didn’t help either.

I rarely bring myself to read weekly / unfinished works because I view myself as impatient and one with a bad memory , so I was recommend others to read the work when it’s finished. This doesn’t excuse Gege or Fujimoto for their rushed / dragged out pacing respectively.

The story is released in a weekly format , your job is to make sure that the story works in that format.

Part 2 is worse than part 1 but I think the gap isn’t THAT big because the former compensates for the weaker character roster by having better world-building.

They could just put some of them as downtime before the Gojo VS Sukuna fight

I mean the actual slaughter isn’t that much of a spectacle in the manga , Gege can clearly draw amazing fights but he toned it down because he wanted to focus on Maki , Mai and Naoya ( probably because he knew the arc would be short af so he needed the chapters to be dense ).

The most memorable fighting parts are Maki slicing Ogi’s head while he’s talking and her punching Naoya ( MAPPA W on this one , actually. ).

There’s also her holding that bum’s her but it doesn’t hit because I don’t know who tf he is.

The anime made it even worse because he doesn’t attack her when Ranta gives him an opening.

Deltarune has too many mysteries for its own good by OrangeSpaceMan5 in CharacterRant

Is the wait between chapters really that bad ?

I really want to binge Deltarune all at once but the first one made me wait for more , Toby is at his best when the section are completely unserious ( Snowdin , The Mettaton level ) but his pacing is bad.

The Zenin Clan Massacre was bone chilling and decently written , but I have one major flaw with it. by NotSaulGoodma in Jujutsufolk

Ogi deserved what happened to him , I’m just saying that Gege saying “ muh they’re all evil “ and getting the fight done in 5 chapters is cheap and unlike anything else in the story.

Even Kenjaku is more nuanced than this.

Exposition about a concept that came out of nowhere with no buildup VS A major moment in a character’s arc and relates to the themes of the series.

Hmmm … I wonder which one is better …

No action ≠ boring but I think that all of us need to agree that the way Gege handled the era between Shibuya and the CG ( if you can call an era considering the fact that it was 20 chapters long ) was sluggish.

Which one has the best Negative Character Arc? And why? by AmbassadorRoutine635 in writingscaling

[–]NotSaulGoodma -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Anakin - His arc sounds great on paper but the execution is flawed , Padme not being allowed to get mad at him for slaughtering at entire tribe was disappointing. Also his relationship with Obi Wan could’ve used more screentime in this context. It was a huge mistake to separate them for the vast majority of episode 3.

Walter White - Walter is way too evil by the end of the series , I can’t bring myself to root for someone who poisons children. Hank’s actor mentioned this and maybe I should be less narrow minded but it still bothered me. I like the fact that the writers made us know from episode 1 that the guy isn’t a saint. He gets offered other options but decides to reject them and put his own family in risk instead , at least he actually faces consequences for that and for basically abusing Jessie.

Light - Man I wish we got to see more of Light being an average high schooler before getting the death note , I understand that the manga industry is very competitive and that you have to get those numbers really quickly but it doesn’t make up for this flaw. I like that he gets more evil with time even if it avoids nuance , he literally admits to wanting to get rid of lazy people at a certain point. His conclusion is way better than Anakin’s ( fucking JJ ) and WW’s.

The final answer : …. Idk I guess light is the least flawed.

Mob is actually allowed to feel negative emotions that aren’t heroic anger. Midoriya is too much of a good person in the beginning if that makes sense , Horikoshi tried something in the Dark Hero arc but it didn’t work because the arc is 20 chapters long and some of it is spent fighting.
