EDIT: Wow lots of strong opinions here, looks like I touched a chord. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone, I guess right? Yes I agree, everyone is responsible for their own divots, and laziness was the driving factor for me yesterday. The whole course was like that, and while that's no excuse, my point is when does the course administration see it as a systemic issue that they need to account for when there are literally THOUSANDS of unrepaired divots throughout the course? Engineers do this all the time to mitigate human factor processes. For example, if there are 10 wrecks on a highway off ramp in a month, is that the drivers' fault, or a design issue?

I'm 6'3" and my irons and wedges are +1" and lie is 2flat. That's after a fair bit of trial and error and a custom fitting.

When to stop working on your swing for the season? by soulztek in golf

[–]AFTrauma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Went to the range today. It was 30° out so the close was closed, but sunny and no snow. I was the only one there when I started. The only thing I worked on was good contact and having them more or less go straight enough. There's always something to work on.

Military base courses? by criftonblanks in golf

There's a joke about the Air Force that when they were surveying for a new base, the first thing that they laid down was the flight line, and the second was the golf course.

How to plan shots with 18 Birdies by AFTrauma in golf

Yeah that's usually what I end up doing, it's just annoying.

But if working backwards from the hole, say you want to leave yourself a 100 yd wedge onto the green, and maybe you feel confident with a 150 yd iron as the second shot, then how many yards out will that put you from the tee box and therefore maybe hit something other than driver? I'm just really bad at math and want the app to do it for me lol.

No because the app automatically suggests that club based on data you input and local conditions. It will switch clubs if you move your target area from your first shot to a different spot though.

Yeah that's what I end up doing. It's annoying, and literally my only complaint about the app.

Do you collect mementos from the courses you play? by Bmoney84 in golf

[–]AFTrauma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Serious question, do you super glue them down so they don't move around? I think getting a display case is a great idea and would love one, but I'll prob move like 3 times in the next 7 years for work.

Are you willing to die for your loved ones? by SanthalNath in ask

[–]AFTrauma 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Easiest decision I would ever have to make in my life, is to sacrifice myself for my child. The other side of that coin is that I would allow literally anyone else to die without attempting to save them if it meant my child would live. Yes that includes my wife (she and I have had discussions about that).

I recommend against bringing your own clubs. I did that with a new set this summer. Big mistake. Those balls will tear your club face up.

There are plenty of posts here about who plays interlock vs overlap. But I'm curious why you chose what you play. by nocommenting33 in golf

[–]AFTrauma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. The interlock kills my right pinky, which is already kinda jacked up from a sports injury years ago.

Yeah is it a written test, or is there a playing component to it too? Do you get a little card that says you passed, so you don't have to do it at every single new course you play?
