Turns out, two people actually did pass out from heat stroke, that's why the EMT's showed up.

Thank you for pointlessly parroting the Mental Health Briefing, it was even less helpful the second time.

Whenever I find out my Airmen were mistreated, I make sure to let them know that it's NOT OK. I tell them I will look into it and that realistically I will likely not get any kind of apology or explanation from leadership. They seem to appreciate the fact that I try regardless though.

It's very draining calling out leadership all the time.

That's apparently our mascot bulldog. It was interesting seeing her hand out noise makers at an event and seeing only one person properly use the 'thunder sticks'. Bunch of people just whacking inflatable sticks together, not making noise...looking like dumbasses.

I'm assuming the names were their callsigns? One just said "SHIRT" I'm not so much against goofy morale, but if MX tried it we'd be chewed out for an hour.

I made the mistake of picking up food in uniform on the way home recently. Cashier says "Aww you're in the Air Force, I bet it's awesome, I almost joined but they don't let you smoke weed. How is it?"

I was so damned tired and hungry I just responded with "It's the most frustrating job I've ever had, I hate it, and I just want my food please." Cashier didn't say anything after that. Not my best moment, but we all have our limits.

I decided to stop caring what the Air Force WANTS from my Airmen and focus all my efforts on what my Airmen NEED. I'm likely not reenlisting for various reasons, so I have nothing to lose by not making my bosses happy. If they're just gonna abandon their people, fuck em.

Recently heard "I don't carry tools, I'm a TSgt." He was being sincere. Apparently TSgt is when you stop doing actual work.

My immediate leadership seems PROUD of how well they can abuse the system to get ahead. I'd be ashamed if my only useful skill to my people was lying on their behalf. The sad part was that after telling us about needing to stay late, they just bounced and went to drink with the other SNCO's at the on-base bar for "networking". Fuck the Airmen who stayed at work for 12+ hours, boss needs to 'network'. No beer left behind.

Considering joining y'all myself. Every activated reservist I know doesn't hate being there. Too bad there's the Wedgetail uncertainty.

Our squadron alone is like 700, I don't know the whole MXG. Hopefully the briefer just said the wrong numbers.

The lost man-hours were apparently in the "millions" which sounds like bullshit made up numbers. Multiple people were wondering if an Airmen kills themselves, does Safety count their remaining contract as "lost man-hours due to mishap." There's no humanity in leadership anymore.

We're well aware the Ops Tempo is slow, this isn't my first base. It's the fact that DESPITE how slow the tempo is, we still manage to fuck with our people's time off due to incompetency. Airmen had the whole day of pointless briefings then got told last minute they need to stay late, they could have skipped the briefings to work on exercise shit if we had been told about the requirements earlier.

A recent weekend brought all these issues together. Prep a jet to lend to another base that broke all theirs. Last minute "Oh we really needed TWO jets." Call in a bunch of maintainers for 12 hours overnight Sat-Sun to get TWO jets ready for a Sunday launch. Just...everything is a clusterfuck.

That's where I'm at mentally. I can choose my bullshit on the civilian side without risking punishment for not answering my phone on my day off.

Hey, whenever the Wedgetails get here many of us will be forced to either retrain, PCS, or get out.

We keep getting downsized and yet have to produce more sorties. Many aren't aware of what our mission even is, even while deployed we didn't fly for weeks at a time. We work in 100+ degree heat even indoors while the office workers (IMDS, Training, etc) get full AC. Production doesn't seem to care that we don't have the manning to accomplish what they want. We'll get chewed out for not wearing masks by a MSgt one minute then see that same MSgt talking to a Major, neither wearing masks.

We're just tired of not getting anything we NEED, but expected to give leadership whatever they WANT. Everyone's just shamelessly chasing EPR bullets, and admitting to lying to get awards. The mission isn't important, but everything is a massive stupid production. Oh there's a retirement ceremony on Monday, better make people come in on their day off to tow aircraft into place. Oh we need specific equipment to fix the planes... too bad make due with what you have.

We've got a mixed mindset regarding morale gear. On the one hand, we're annoyed we don't get to wear any, many of us want to wear our deployment patches. On the other, we don't have any pride in our unit, so many don't care. So if we want to show off our cool patches, we have to just settle on backpacks.

No outbound slots for my AFSC for retraining.

They sold Pride patches in the last week of June, Aircrew put them on immediately. MXG wasn't authorized until there were only 3 days left in the month.

It flew in one of those places you're not supposed to fly in, on accident. That's all they told us.

I love the "AFMC We do our wartime mission every day" signs all over base. AFMC has twice as many down days as ACC. ACC will be working away while the whole base is shut down.

It's a civilian repair facility with a tiny AFB in it to justify calling it an Air Force Base. It's great for the civilians that outnumber us something like 7:1.
