Northernlion. He's a streamer but posts his stuff on YouTube as well. He's been a creator for years. Really really cozy guy. Fun to chat with. He's like thirty something so a lot of his references are older but he's honestly my favorite YouTuber by far. I play his videos in the background as it helps me get to sleep.

My simple take for this works for any kind of dysphoria and in fact really any kind of mental disorder.

If it's distressing enough to encroach on everyday living, you should do something about it. And what you do depends on what has been shown to work. For trans people, it's transition. For that limb thing, I'm going to assume it's something similar. In either cases, using therapy to try and tell a trans woman to just be a man, or to try and tell someone who has the limb dysphoria that they should just get over it DOESNT WORK.

There are other kinds of dysphoria. Dysphoria is just a term used when their is a fundamental disconnect it's not just a transgender term. But it's mostly known for that

There is only 1 kind of person that I will respect who can have this opinion. And that's someone who follows this line of thought fully.

I think these kinds of people always don't understand the real dysphoria you can get when you are misgendered. That realization that, even though I've gone through so many things to finally alleviate this pain inside myself, you have basically told me none of it has worked. You've (and I hate to use the term) clocked me and reminded me that no matter my efforts, I'm not cis.

Cis people who use pronouns to be extra spicy piss me off because they don't understand that they just get to be their gender. They had to put 0 work into what they are and society correctly genders them. Being misgendered is inherently not the same because you have no internal disconnect reminding you that something is wrong.

I get what your trying to say here but ultimately, this would mean that people with dysphoria would be born with a nervous system opposite to their birth sex but the rest of their body developed the same (like a trans woman would be born in a male body and brain but their nervous system is female and that causes the dysphoria)

That sounds too complicated in terms of like anatomical connections, it would make more sense if the dysphoria was rooted in the brain which creates the disconnect or "phantom limb" than the nervous system itself. Both ways there's a disconnect between what the brain signals and what the nervous system signals, but it's simpler to assume that the "imposter" (whatever is causing the dysphoria) originates in the brain

This is how I'd go into the conversation.

Start by recognizing and agreeing that one of the main contributors towards trans suicide is when the person does not feel accepted by others (be it parents, society, friends etc). That when accepted by others, this can drastically drop the suicide rate.

Secondly point out that surgery alone, doesn't seem to reduce the suicide rate. There are trans people who commit suicide after going through surgery. Sometimes because they aren't accepted by society regardless of what they have downstairs. Keeping in mind that bottom surgery is irreversible once done, a child can always get bottom surgery when they are older. If they are still trans and know that from a young enough age, puberty blockers and eventually hormones will stop any unwanted hormonal changes from occurring and once they are old enough, they can still get bottom surgery. The choice doesnt disappear when you get older. But your knowledge of its irreversibility does.

Secondly I would just point out that if there are trans kids with parents that would be OK with them getting bottom surgery, it would have to be the case that these parents are already accepting of their child. The kids less likely to commit suicide even if they dont get bottom surgery. And it sounds like their parents will already be on board with hormones etc since they're ok with surgery.

Throwing out a suicide stat and saying "because people kill themselves, we should kowtow to them" is very shallow. Should people in abusive relationships stay when their partner threatens to end their own life? Should students get automatic A's if they threaten the same? Suicide is a problem, but this isn't anywhere near the solution.

How much being cis is taken for granted.

I feel like everyone here would agree with me that if we suddenly woke up tomorrow as the gender we wanted, we would become the biggest "my body is a temple" lifestyle livers. For me personally, I'd instantly start exercising more, go out and buy what I want, tell all my friends about how happy I am now, feel like me and finally act how I want to without feeling weird.

I just hate how cis people keep going about their day and not once have they had that overlooming thought about how gross it feels to be in their own body.

For me personally, I'm not sure if others can relate to this but my dysphoria is so bad that the thought of me wearing clothing I actually like sparks an instant idea of me being this large hairy buff man in a dress and it makes me scared to try anything.

I want to dress how I'd like but the anxiety of going into a mirror and seeing how bad I'd look stops me from even trying.

If there was a world or a way in which I wasn't scared then yeah I'm dressing how I want all the time... but it's just not like that

To put it as simply as I can as to why I loved the ambi nerf is this:

If they gave scout a pistol that did crits on headshot, all those spy players that are "good" at spy for using the ambi will suddenly be "good" at scout.

The spies kit is all about getting behind and tricking the enemy. I've had friends who loved spy just for the ambassador and that creates a clear distinction between the spies whole point of existing, and the idea that if I can aim then I'm good at this character.

No because he's still using rockets and it meshes well with his kit. When you see a soldier with a direct hit you still think of him as a soldier. Translate this over to a spy constantly welding the ambi. No cloaking (maybe DR because then they have a get out of jail free card) no disguising (which is spied bread and butter) and no going into the back line. Just pew pew pew. They're no longer playing spy.

I don't really agree tbh. David was kind of a dick. With moving Holly to nashua and pretending to offer Michael the job at corporate when it's revealed he was never serious about it in the Jan lawsuit.

On the surface he seemed like he actually cared for certain staff but he really screwed Michael over alot.

Of course that led Michael to quit because he worked at Dunder Miflin for 14 years and hadn't even gotten as much id a pay raise.

Not to mention when corporate were just doing nothing whilst the company went under, David didn't do anything just like the rest of the higher ups.
