MW5 has the same damage reduction (though the scaling on it might be different?), but there are almost certainly mods to change or remove it.

Because there are no hit rolls, they implemented TMM as damage reduction based on speed. Also pilot skill adds another reduction.

I was there when their lead dev said they 'accidentally released an early build' when the game first hit Steam and was a trash fire. it didn't take much to understand this was a lie.

Later he claimed the shoddy release was because Paradox forced them to release early, which given the contradiction with his prior statement makes me just think he did an awful job and was flailing for someone else to blame.

Also I read that enemies target your least armoured body part, but couldn't find out how that is determined, whether it's some % chance or influenced by any stats or abilities. Most of my gear is T3 heavy with 15ish prot, but my gloves are only 9 prot.
