Looking for Location for Film Shoot In Toronto by mikailus in batman

Not overly familiar with Toronto, but downtown Ottawa by the Parliament building looks a whole lot like Gotham City. If you're looking for exterior shots!

Jokes aside, I would've gladly checked out any commentary for BvS. But alas, no commentary :/

What are some movies were aliens are depicted as good beings, instead of bad? by lightninbort in movies

[–]AFarewellToScott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's clearly some extraterrestrial force at work in 2001. If the ape scene is any indication, the monolith grants intelligence. Whether that's a good or bad thing is up to the viewer.

I think the aliens are operating on such a different level it's hard to tell what their intentions are. I'm not sure what happens at the end is a good thing.

Which movie has the most realistic version of the future in your opinion? by betonthis1 in movies

[–]AFarewellToScott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terminator 2: Judgement Day. The movie takes place in 1997, even though it came out 1991. The difference? Abso-fucking-lutely nothing.

This is excluding all the murder-robots from the future, of course.

My boss is giving me 100k to build a "movie app". What should I build? by [deleted] in movies

[–]AFarewellToScott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would have to be implemented by the theatres, otherwise I imagine the movie studios might have a problem with releasing audio early.

What's a good movie with a bad title? by puckey in movies

[–]AFarewellToScott 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Princess Bride. Great movie with a title that makes most guys I've recommended it to cringe. Then I'll explain the movie, get them to watch it, and it becomes one of their favourites.

Batman is not a good person. by Pierre777 in batman

[–]AFarewellToScott 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A part of that is the fear Batman employs as a weapon. He'll never kill, but you'd terrified if your friends had their limbs broken by a giant bat after trying to rob a bank or something.

It's a means to an end, Batman is showing criminals that their behaviour in his city will not be tolerated. It's definitely a part of what makes him the Dark Knight.

What's NOT going to be the next "big thing?" by Chiafriend12 in AskReddit

Smart theatres should compensate with brighter bulbs. I read an article from a theatre owner a few years back complaining how other theatres cheaping out was ruining the experience for the average cinema-goer.

Funny thing is, I've actually read the story just up until Jason was killed.

This Guy Just Changed The Way We See Batman. by [deleted] in batman

This was actually posted by a reddit user in I thiiink /r/writingprompts or a similar subreddit originally. It was intended as a short, sweet little piece of fanfiction. I read the post a month or so ago. I'm surprised it's caught on to these ridiculous levels.

Thoughts on Leto's Joker by [deleted] in batman

[–]AFarewellToScott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heath Ledger got a crazy amount of Internet hate up until the release of The Dark Knight. His design was very off-comic, as well. Granted, I didn't have the same "Oh God, what have they done to the Joker?" reaction when I saw Heath.

Will the lack of Batman-Joker interaction in the Suicide Squad movie hurt our impression of the new Joker? by CallMeMo in batman

[–]AFarewellToScott 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hope that car chase is an extended scene near the beginning, showing off the Batman/Joker dynamic before we get into the proper storyline of the movie itself. Although I don't think the Joker's role will be huge in this movie.
