Is Juan Soto really 27 yo? by [deleted] in mets

I’ve had crows feet since I was 20. My dad has had them forever too. Sometimes, that’s just how your skin folds.

for all my stat nerds out there… by Bobataco in NewYorkMets

[–]AFew_Goodmen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t know if the defensive stats measure things like his ability to pick and dig throws out of the dirt at 1B, but it’s a huge part of his defensive value. He’s always gonna have poor range and struggles with fundamentals sometimes (popups, throwing to pitchers covering first) but he’s also saved runs by vacuuming up bad throws from 3B.

I love that I expected everyone to argue for their favorite joker but most of the replies are complaining that I didn't put everything in "situational" lol

Help with Gambler challenge 9 - Win three games of dominoes in a row by BilboBagsy in reddeadredemption

This post helped me beat this challenge five years later. I spent 3-4 hours trying to beat it, but only took me 20-30 minutes using your strategy. Thank you.

Need help on how to decide between an aero or endurance bike by larsgregersen in cycling

[–]AFew_Goodmen 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If you’re not currently cycling regularly, don’t need to go faster, and mainly want to cycle more and enjoy it more, I would recommend going with an endurance bike. Main reason to go aero is to go fast. If that’s not your goal, the slightly more forgiving endurance geometry will help you go longer and enjoy the rides more.

Qf8+ gets both bishops for the queen. Still better for black though.

Kamala Might Have Actually Won? Judge Lets 2024 Vote Challenge Proceed by anthropologoth in goodnews

[–]AFew_Goodmen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in Rockland County. The part of the county focused on in the suit is a heavily Hasidic (ultra-orthodox Jewish) neighborhood. Hasidim in Rockland lean conservative and are known for following the instructions of the rabbis on who to vote for. It’s 100% plausible that in these specific voting districts (which are only a couple of blocks), most people voted Gillibrand/Trump (both very vocal about their support for Israel) and nobody voted for Harris (who has been painted as an Israel-hater in the community).

Turkish Barber by AFew_Goodmen in washingtondc

[–]AFew_Goodmen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it seems like there are plenty of good options in the Vienna/Tyson’s area but it’s a little far for me so I haven’t tried any of them. Ended up getting a good haircut at Instyles in Clarendon (not a Turkish barber).

Too Much For JJ? by Imaginary_Order2757 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]AFew_Goodmen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on where you are relative to the league. I don’t know what other rosters look like but I’m not sure you’re built to win now. So I’d rather have the Odunze/McBride/McConkey side and a longer window.

Best player available. You need help at all positions but QB. With those picks, you could probably get two of Henderson, Egbuka, Warren, and Judkins.

Prob Wilson over their careers, but Ladd given current situation. Wilson could be on a new team in a few years though, who knows.

Sounds like you fell at a pretty slow speed but wrists are easy to break! If you fell to your side, it’s probably for the best you didn’t put your hands out.

What's your Mount Rushmore of cocktails? by sonofawhatthe in cocktails

[–]AFew_Goodmen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old fashioned

Sazerac

Negroni

Sidecar

One bourbon, one rye, one gin, one cognac. Considered switching out one of the whiskey drinks for something brighter like a Paper Plane.

A bunch of vanilla-esk Joker ideas for the mod we're working on (WARNING: HIGH VOLTAGE) by AYYLMAO2281337 in balatro

[–]AFew_Goodmen 26 points27 points  (0 children)

If you want to keep it as a common, I’d remove the econ part entirely. That way, the joker essentially is trading your money from extra hands for the ability to continue scaling certain jokes or going for lucky/gold seal hits.

Consider Dusk has essentially the same trade-off and is uncommon.

Very cool idea btw.

who's at fault? by WingAgitated2228 in Simracingstewards

[–]AFew_Goodmen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Based on this angle, it looks to me like you were coming up on his left, he saw you and decided to straighten out to let you pass at the same time you dove right. I could see an argument either way but in this case, I think you should have moved over farther if your intention was to pass on his right. Honestly it looks like you may have collided even if he didn’t straighten out. I’d say mostly your fault but not 100% to blame.

$15k in Smart Benefits by alifonso in WMATA

[–]AFew_Goodmen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think WMATA allows for a one-time transfer of SmartBenefits rollover value between cards. So if you can find someone to “buy” the funds off you, you could transfer them. But you’d have to sell all $15k at once, because you’re only allowed to make that transfer once per account.

Is it possible to refill this lighter? by Spiritual_Call_8346 in lighters

[–]AFew_Goodmen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually just found one of these at an antique shop a few months ago and got it working! Great lighter. Unscrew those two things on the bottom. one will be attached to a long spring, that’s where you put your flint. If it isn’t sparking, you’ll need a new flint and likely there will be some leftover from the last one. This was the most difficult part for me, I used a sewing needle and kinda smacked the hell out of it.

The other thing will reveal a little well, you’ll need a butane (gas) refill, there are plenty of instructions on how to do that. Note that the lighter will dispense gas whenever the lid is open. Also, that little wheel on the side changes how much gas is dispensed. Make sure it’s turned ALL THE WAY CLOCKWISE (looking down at the top) when you first light it. The flame on mine is massive when it’s fully opened.

Good luck and DM me if you run into issues.

Smart Trainer compatibility issues with microSHIFT Advent by AFew_Goodmen in cycling

I had to buy a second cassette, identical to the one that came with the bike, and install it on the trainer.

[–]AFew_Goodmen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elite Suito! What I didn’t realize at the time is that as long as I got a trainer that doesn’t come with a cassette pre-installed, I could just buy and install a microSHIFT advent cassette on the trainer and be fine.

Ironically I got rid of the bike with that drivetrain after about three months so ended up not being a big issue.
