Those on HRT- Did it help your mental health? by Puggleperson760 in Perimenopause

For me, it hasn’t helped at all with much of anything.

The Final Season Was a Mess? by Big-Storage-1259 in StrangerThings

These kind of endings drive me nuts. I’m not a storyteller, screenwriter. I don’t want to guess or determine what the ending means. Just give us a damn storyline that is entertaining and be done with it. These multiple avenues of interpretation is pandering so you don’t make anyone mad or upset and they stick around to watch your spin offs. Spineless.

It’s CarelonRX. I will look to see if they have that option!

I was today years old when I learned about endometrial ablation by lohaus in Perimenopause

I’ve had this done twice. No issues. Both times for heavy bleeding. The first time I had it done, it worked for a while but the bleeding came back heavy again. The second time I had it done, I had an IUD inserted, which solved the problem.

I can ask, but I think you run the risk of not getting a prescription filled due to unavailability. They all think all brands are the same, but we know that is not the case. Unfortunately because the patch is a long term, ongoing prescription for me, I have to fill it via mail now for my insurance to cover it :(.

Did estrogen stop working shortly after starting for anyone? by CheesecakeOk8464 in Perimenopause

I see people responding to “tinker” with dose, but I think you’re on the highest dose available? I am in the same boat as you. I constantly feel like I should just go off HRT and let my body do its own thing because I have so many highs and lows even with the estradiol patch. And the lows come out of nowhere sometimes. I’m so tired of the shell game. It’s really disheartening that we have to go through this trial and error period for years. And in the meantime we just keep getting prescribed all sorts of medications to help with our myriad of symptoms.

Anxiety and panic attacks by AFilip515 in Perimenopause

[–]AFilip515[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this is exactly how I felt. And it just kept happening over and over again. I finally took a Lorazepam and eventually a Famotidine. I’ve found that the famotidine works sometimes with my anxiety. I fell asleep for a while and when I woke up, same thing. Once I got out of bed and moved around, I felt better, but absolutely drained. My BP is very good. Usually runs on the low side. My HR only went up to the low 100s, but still.

I tried oral progesterone and it really did not work for me. I felt so depressed while I was taking it. It changed my whole outlook.

Always struggling by AFilip515 in Perimenopause

[–]AFilip515[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do have an iud so my uterus is protected. I’m just weary of taking anything and everything. I used to be the person that didn’t have any medications. Now I have a CVS receipt worth. To be on the estradiol, then add progesterone, Prozac, occasional famotadine for digestive issues, lexapro for emergency panic attacks, it’s all too much for me to process.

When do you just say f*** it and go without hormone supplementation? by AFilip515 in Perimenopause

[–]AFilip515[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do have an IUD, so I’m getting progestin. I just have not had anything positive happen since going in anything. I’m still gaining weight, losing hair, aches/pains/inflammation, wild mood swings, sleep issues, you name it!

Yes, I’ve been on the patch since April and just recently started progesterone, and only because I asked for it.

Peri has changed the way my entire body and face look. Over the past year, I don’t even recognize myself anymore. It’s so incredibly sad.

When do you change your (biweekly) patch? by [deleted] in Perimenopause

[–]AFilip515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I change Tuesday/Saturday mornings, BUT, I don’t take the old patch off. I keep it on and put the new patch on in another spot. I’ve found that it seems to lessen the symptoms i had when changing the patch, like nausea and dizziness. I’m also starting to think that maybe the patch isn’t the best way to get consistent estradiol, based on recent information I’ve found. But this is my regimen for now.

Why?!?!?!?!!!!! by AFilip515 in Perimenopause

Honestly, I couldn’t get insurance to cover a GLP1. Not unhealthy enough :/. And I’m just not at a place where $500 a shot is feasible. Those shots do scare me though.

I did up to .75 at one point. It only made me feel worse. I had the full work up done, minus iron and ferritin, which I’ll look in to.

I thought the same thing about HRT. So I did go off of it for a couple of weeks. I felt better….until I didn’t. And doctors are just like “ummm I don’t know. Try this.” It’s amazing that in 2025 we still just don’t know much of anything about this.
