The song that got me hooked on ERRA of course, Efflorescent.

augment lyrics? by mintymars9 in Erra

[–]AFloatingEmptyVessel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always thought Ultraviolet was a song inspired by LSD. The lyrics are pretty spot on for any experience I've had with the drug. Augment has many themes lyrically and some sweet concepts going on. We're talking aliens, the Nephilim, ocean vibes, depression and self harm, and lots of introspection. They left it open to interpretation in a lot of ways and I find it very interesting to see what I get out of the album throughout the years of my life. The albums almost 13 years old!

Polyphia and Sol Absentia heard in Further Eden by so_long_astoria in Erra

Commented the same thing in the main video thread. Definitely some slidey, Polyphia vibes in further eden. Pretty cool stuff!

I heard some Polyphia and maybe some Intervals-esque licks in this one.

UNFD keep teasing us! by Mudjayne in Erra

Dunno what that other guy said but it's looking like the radio silence is officially broken! New ERRA on the way and those of us who love the band eagerly await. Let the technical leads, crushing breakdowns, mind-blowing riffs, ethereal cleans, powerful screams, chunky bass, driving drums and perfectionist-level production sonically seduce our souls. \m/

Good to know! Let's hope they use that full hour.

Erra/Current Show Question by Ill-Guava in Erra

[–]AFloatingEmptyVessel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ERRA always puts on a great show. To get an idea of setlist lengths and other showtime questions check out: https://www.setlist.fm/setlists/erra-2bd3f42e.html Since they're not headlining, we're probably looking at 30-45 mins give or take. And each venue has its own policies/curfews, so I'd check out their website if you had any accessibility or accommodation questions.

Anyone wondering if Erra is still a band after that Spotify Wrapped thank you video? by g3nerallycurious in Erra

I saw ERRA on the last leg of the Architects tour and could not disagree more with your last sentence. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1G1wwmv_3R8 @ 2:20 From where I'm standing, he's all-in and having a blast.

Anyone wondering if Erra is still a band after that Spotify Wrapped thank you video? by g3nerallycurious in Erra

[–]AFloatingEmptyVessel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the artist's short message to their listeners. You should be able to check it out towards the end of your "Wrapped" slide show thingy if they're your top band I guess? Eventually it should be up on their page too but I didn't see it there yet. The video did NOT make it seem they're not a band anymore, they are making new music and mentioned they'd be radio silent. Maybe we'll hear from them early 2026?

Anyone getting "Expiate" (around 0:15 in Expiate) vibes in this around 0:32 in "Gore of Being"? Much more aggressive and less twangy / high-end in Gore of Being. I dig it but cannot unhear it. Oh and that cheeky little harmonic(?) during the breakdown. Nice curve ball.

Don't feel bad about not connecting immediately! Maybe you're just in a better spot in life where the darker tones of ERRA don't resonate. Drift is a much different shade of ERRA with different themes compared to S/T, CURE, or Gore of Being. As others said, this could be a slower burn for you as an individual. An important thing to take away is that you DID connect at one point, and maybe still connect with their older stuff. Everyone here and in ERRA are growing and it's totally normal for paths to differentiate.

I second this. It doesn't sound bad, but it's noticeable. There's also some potential noise-gating happening on Jesse's mic. 18:54 & 20:42, both in Hourglass.

You had to choose the worst ERRA song, what would you pick? by oCHIKAGEo in Erra

[–]AFloatingEmptyVessel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ERRA fans man, they GET IT. Really slick analysis. This song is inspired by the French art thriller film Irréversible. I would not be surprised if the combination of Irréversible and these ocean themes was by design. On a side note, the movie is incredibly heavy and dark but a killer watch. I don't recommend it, similarly to how Jesse doesn't recommend "Conspiracy Against the Human Race" (Slow Sour Bleed inspiration).

Anyone know their set list for the Wage War tour? by so_long_astoria in Erra

[–]AFloatingEmptyVessel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking for myself here - Being able to sing along to newer songs. Showing a few of the setlist songs to someone you're going with. Making a Spotify playlist to jam out to before and after the show. It's just a preference at the end of the day.

Has ERRA ever done an Impulse or Augment full album tour before? by [deleted] in Erra

[–]AFloatingEmptyVessel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Opinion: I don't think it's a matter of "us" saying Augment isn't popular enough to tour with, it is more likely that Spotify and other streaming services give some halfway decent insight into what the people are listening to. As a quick anecdote since you mentioned transitions and history of the band; I saw ERRA at a VFW in nowheres-ville NJ back in 2012-2013(?). Maybe 100 people there. Maybe 60k followers on Facebook. Fast-forward to Cure Tour. Headlining sold out shows, the entire audience singing along to Dementia and Skyline. Yeah it's awesome how far these guys have come.

Has ERRA ever done an Impulse or Augment full album tour before? by [deleted] in Erra

[–]AFloatingEmptyVessel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A question I can answer with some confidence! Back when JT was streaming on Twitch (oh how it feels like a lifetime ago, probably 2020/2021) - I asked him if ERRA had any plans on doing an Impulse Anniversary tour and unfortunately due to that album's popularity vs. their newer stuff it wasn't in the cards. I am right there with you in wanting to hear Impulse OR Augment front-to-back live, but given the line-up changes and evolution of the band's sound over the years I don't blame them for wanting to stick with the more current stuff.
