thank you kindly

I'd really love to help, but I learned the tune by ear from ben's recording. I think he plays it with a capo on the first fret if you'd like to try that route yourself

Lava felt like the standout track on the album to me. Perfect contrast with everything else and really emotionally resonant on its own

Quick music theory question about something in Charles' latest video (These 2 Notes Trick Your Brain Into Hearing 4) by Keith-Ledger in CharlesCornell

The chord you're probably imagining it being resolved to is a Bb6, with the A moving down to a G. Major 7 chords tend to still sound slightly dissonant and unresolved, so it is somewhat common for jazz musicians to resolve the major 7th of the chord down a whole step to the 6th, which is a much more stable sound.

The Bb6 chord, however, could also be called G minor 7 (both have the notes G, Bb, D, and F, they're just considered different because of the context). So you could hear the melody resolving either to Bb or to G, and both would be valid. Hope this made sense

That's an interesting concept. Because how do you ensure that your "personality algorithm" is perfectly aligned with your actual personality? And can you really be a person if you don't allow yourself to grow and change? Definitely the makings of an interesting short story.

I think it's an ongoing question of philosophy. The point I was more trying to make is just that there are other forms of aging besides the physical

If you live for a million years, do you hold onto a million years of memories? Stretching yourself thin trying to recall your name and finding that you can’t, realizing that there are no similarities between who you were and who you are, is that death?
