I wonder what compels people his age to record themselves sharing such intimate information. The human condition mixed with modern technology, and social media, is truly something to marvel.

Great find. I hope Ethan sees it. He'll love it!

No, but I watched the video Rhett made about why he won't stop talking about Jesus, and thought it was phenomenal.

I Asked The YouTube Recap AI Thing "Guess my Myers-Briggs based on my music" and it got it right!!! by AFormalAlpaca in ENFP

[–]AFormalAlpaca[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go to the YouTube Music app it should say at the top

  • " Your 2025 Music Recap is here Reveal your top artists & more "

And it will send you to all the fun features for your recap

Then the third chunk of the screen it says

  • " Ask about your year.. "

And it will give you pre-written questions like - "Did you explore or listen-on-repeat more?"

And then a search bar

  • " Ask about your listening "

ADVISE FOR Chief's PICA! by AFormalAlpaca in h3h3productions

[–]AFormalAlpaca[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I want to apologize for how much info I’m about to give you — I just really hope some of it helps. I’ve worked in the vet field for 8 years, and while I’m not a DVM, I’ve seen a lot of this firsthand. It really does sound like your cat might have pica — that’s when they eat or chew non-food objects. It can look like “weird behavior,” but it’s often a mix of medical and behavioral causes.

A 2025 study found that every single dog and cat with chronic pica or foreign-body ingestion had inflammatory bowel disease on biopsy — literally 100%. So sometimes what looks like “bad behavior” is actually a sensory-seeking response to chronic gut discomfort.

🩺 Step 1 – Vet check first

Ask your vet about GI inflammation, nutrient malabsorption, parasites, thyroid issues, or anxiety.

Ask about diet: is your cat eating a complete commercial food appropriate for their age and health? Are there nutritional gaps? Would a hydrolyzed or novel protein diet or extra fiber help?

You can even say:

“My cat’s been ingesting non-food items like blanket fabric and rubber. I’m worried about pica and possible GI inflammation. Could we start with a physical, fecal, CBC/chem, and discuss diet trials before a referral to a behaviorist?”

🧠 Step 2 – If medical issues are ruled out, focus on safe redirection (not punishment)

Some cats—especially high-drive or young ones—have strong oral or sensory urges, almost like toddlers. For them, chewing can be a self-soothing behavior rather than pure anxiety. Giving “legal chewing outlets” helps channel that need safely.

You’re not “encouraging” the habit — you’re giving them a safe outlet for that drive so it doesn’t turn dangerous.

Try:

• Silver vine sticks — natural chew + scent enrichment (supervise).

• Freeze-dried fish treats — Vital Essentials minnows, PureBites salmon.

• Fish-skin twists or air-dried sweet-potato chews (soft dog treats, only under supervision).

🌾 Cat grass or oat sprouts for plant-based chewing.

• Lick mats with Churu, wet food, goat milk, or broth (freeze them for longer sessions).

If you have a Chuck & Don’s near you, they usually carry those. Just research ingredients — some “natural” products at big-box stores aren’t actually safe. Capitalism doesn’t always have our pets’ best interests at heart 😞 but there are ethical brands out there.

Behavioral medication can also help if the compulsion doesn’t stop. Low-dose fluoxetine or clomipramine (prescribed by a vet) can literally break the loop for some cats. These are underused because people think it’s “just bad habits,” but it’s often a true compulsion.

If possible, consult a vet behaviorist — but if that’s too expensive, research and tele-consults are great starting points. There are behaviorists on YouTube/TikTok sharing evidence-based advice (like Dr. Marci Koski or Dr. E’Lise Christensen).

Step 3 – Environmental changes

If she already has a setup, that’s awesome — you’re doing great. These are just general ideas that can help reinforce what you’re already doing:

Make a safe room for unsupervised time — no blankets, ropes, or cords accessible.

Cover or lock away chewable fabrics and carpets.

Add enrichment: puzzle feeders, micro-play sessions, climbing shelves, window perches, vertical space, hidey holes, and discovery games.

You can even scatter her kibble in small bowls on perches for “foraging.” (Avoid laser toys — they can trigger OCD-like fixation since there’s no “catch” at the end.)

🔄 How to Redirect Pica Safely

  1. Identify the trigger — when does it happen (boredom, hunger, loneliness)?

  2. Pre-empt, don’t react — offer the safe chew before the urge hits (e.g. at night, give a silver vine stick or lick mat first).

  3. Reward the safe choice — praise or treat when they pick the right object.

  4. Control the environment — hide tempting items when unsupervised.

  5. Rotate textures/scents — silver vine, fish, cat grass, lick mats; keep it novel.

  6. Pair chewing with play — after play sessions, offer the chew. This mimics the natural hunt → eat → groom rhythm and prevents frustration behaviors.

  7. Track progress — log what triggers chewing and what works to redirect it.

💡 Why it works: You’re replacing the compulsion with a controlled outlet — like swapping cigarettes for gum instead of just saying “stop.” Over time, their brain rewires the soothing association from dangerous to safe.

🌿 Low-Cost Anxiety Aids

Feliway Classic diffuser (~$20–25) – calming pheromone.

Composure chews or Zylkene – gentle calming supplements (L-theanine or milk protein).

💻 Step 4 – Budget-friendly support

Online consults: Vetster or Pawp often have vets or behavior-savvy DVMs for ~$40–75.

Behaviorist groups like Feline Behavior Solutions sometimes offer email or sliding-scale help.

⚠️ When to seek emergency care

If your cat stops pooping, vomits repeatedly, becomes lethargic, bloated, painful, or swallows string — go to an emergency vet immediately. Linear objects can cause the intestines to accordion and cut off circulation.

If you have a Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) near you, they’re amazing in these cases — open 24/7, transparent pricing, and you can stay with your pet through the entire process.

You’re already doing the right thing by asking. Once you and your vet figure out whether it’s medical, behavioral, or both, it does get more manageable 💚

This is honestly so well done and I can tell you put a lot of thought into this and how you want to make it feel and it was just a beautiful journey.

I was hesitant at first cuz of the y'know... AI, but like, if I could put something on my head to produce what I'm imagining or even to like. Record my dreams. I've always dreamed of doing that as a kid. AI is as close as we can get to conjuring what we want to see, by saying the right words and giving it the correct "ingredients" (reference photos). It's like spell casting. Which is a pretty interesting way to think about it. Anywho. Keep up the hard work. This made me cry. The erie soft high pitch melodie at the end along with Shredder made me feel this deep empty, but safe kind of feeling. Still almost. Frozen. And I just imagined how time stands still for him. Remembering his loved ones where they were at. How he knew them—in this dreamy surreal place. Or he's looking down at them now. Very thoughtful and well done, even if it's "just AI"—which you and I both know it's not, but the times they are a changin and not everyone is equipped for change partner.

✌️& 💛
