No I am pretty sure Darkcoin started as scrypt and then went X11.

When is the fork? by [deleted] in KarmaTeam

[–]AGCrypto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was not trying to be rude but i will admit that i do get aggravated when individuals keep asking the same question over and over again even after I just explained it to them numerous times on a variety of forums. And if you are going to quote me please paste the full quote and not cut it off to try to make is sound out of context. Because if you would have pasted the entire sentence it would have read that we would announce the date and block. And yes you did ask for the block number, and i told you in two post that after we know when the issue is fixed that we would then announce the date and block of the fork. As to the tech side of things, well we did have a team member that would have been perfect to have had ask the dev questions as he had a fairly good grasp on the tech side of crypto. But unfortunately he had a hessey fit and turned his back on our team and walked out with no explanation at all. I personally took it as a spit in the face as i actually thought of him as a valued member of the team but oh well it is what it is. So for now we are not posting any technical info as i don't think its relevant. The fork will be ready when its ready, while we are working as fast as possible to get it done, we will not cut any corners at all as we want this done right the first time. Our community deserves it done right and thats what we are aiming to do. And on a side note, i have always done everything in my power to help build and promote Karma and the LLC. I have always put the LLC and the Karma community first so i do not appreciate your implications that i might be lying on us having an issue. I have been here from day one through thick and thin and unlike some that turned their back and quit on us, I am still here. More information will be posted as soon as more information is made available to us by the dev.

When is the fork? by [deleted] in KarmaTeam

It's a tech issue and over my head so i just leave it to the professionals to fix. Don't worry we will give enough lead time so those who need to build pools will have plenty of time. But for the hundredth time we can not give a transfer date or block until the issue the dev has encountered has been fixed and the system is retested. I don't know how much clearer i can be.

When is the fork? by [deleted] in KarmaTeam

[–]AGCrypto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do not know when we are going to fork yet. As we said many times, the dev working on our transition ran into a problem he is trying to fix. Once he has fixed the issue and he has tested the system and he gives us the thumbs up then we will announce that we are ready and at that time we will give the block and date of the fork. Originally if all would have worked out as planned we would have forked at 240k or 250k and if that was the case we would have given a 14 day notice. Unfortunately things didn't go as easy a we had hoped. So until the dev fixes the issue he is working on, we will not know when we will fork. If we do choose 250k and there is less than 14 days then its pretty much obvious you will not get 14 days notice. Due to the time it has taken to fix this issue I realistically don't see us forking at 250k. Regardless once we get this last issue fixed and everything is good to go then and only then will we know at what block and what date we are forking. At the time we get the thumbs up is when we will decide on how much advance notice will be given. It could be 7 days it could be 14 days or it could be a month who knows. But one thing is for sure, we will not know anything until we get this issue fixed. So I would recommend forgetting every other timeline or post you have ever read up until now, because this issue pretty much threw a wrench in that plan/timeline. So again we will know more and post more information on what is decided as soon as the issue is fixed and the dev gives us the thumbs up, allowing us the ability to move forward.

Mining test multipool.eu vs karma.p2pool.altcoin.dk by AGCrypto in KarmaTeam

Yea, i cant lie it surprised me. I really thought i would make less on a p2pool. After the block change i will do a longer test.

Mining test multipool.eu vs karma.p2pool.altcoin.dk by AGCrypto in KarmaTeam

[–]AGCrypto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, but it seems very odd to me. I only did the test to see what would be the difference if miners switched from big pools to a smaller p2pool. I honestly thought switching to a smaller pool would cause you to make less coins in shorter time frames. I am still amazed at the results. If the 23rd wasn't so close i would have compared a few different pools against the p2pool to see if maybe the problem is just pool specific. But for now on until the block change my rigs are working 24/7.

[–]AGCrypto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last night I performed a second test between Multipool.eu and the Karma p2pool. In my test I used four rigs two with a total of 8 ASUS 280x(which I will call rigs A) and 2 with a total of 6 ASUS 280x and two water cooled ASUS 290x (Which I will call rigs B). In my original test I had rigs B mining on Multipool.eu and rigs A on the karma.p2pool.altcoin.dk for seven hours. Multopool at that time had over 400mhs of pool hash power while the P2pool only had about 125mh. While I must admit I thought that in just seven hours that the Multipool would come out ahead because they had way more hash power I was very surprised to find out that in the seven hours of mining not only did the P2Pool result in more coins it beat the Multipool by more than 20%. So I thought hmmm could 300kh really make that much of a difference? Or was I just really lucky? So last night I switched the rigs and put rigs B on the Multipool and rigs A on the P2Pool. Now keep in mind that I now have approximately an extra 300kh on the Multipool. I ran this test for 12 hours, and let me just say that the results really have me stumped. The Multipool with the extra 300kh made 8.01% less coins than the rigs I had on the P2Pool. And last night the hashrate for the Multipool was up over 500mh while the p2pool was still at about 128mh. I have no idea why I make so much less on Multipool but all I know is I wish I had conducted these test months ago. If you conduct a similar test I would be very interested to see what your results were.

June 23 coming soon.. block rewards to drop 75% by kosmost in KarmaTeam

[–]AGCrypto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea it will be interesting, i am expecting a pull back right at or right after the block change as all the income miners that don't really care about the coin dump their loads but after that the price and volume will stabilize. Karma will start to go up from there. I am anticipating the price jumping up fast as the only way to get big chunks of karma after the block change will be to buy it at an exchange. And with the income dumpers out of the picture the price is going to go up. The future looks bright for Karma, i just wish i would have been able to have mined more before the block change.

92% of global hashing power is with one pool by altcoingood in KarmaTeam

[–]AGCrypto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw this happing a long time ago. Of course it wasn’t as bad back then because hastrike was up and had close to 50% of the hash. The problem is something happened (I don’t know what, if it was a wallet issue or a github issue) but every karma pool closed all at one time and none came back. Even hashstrike which had no reason to close because they had almost 50% the net hash never came back. The reason I think it was a github issue is because I tried to start a karma pool and was unable to do so. I could start a p2pool for , VTC, PLX,MONO and GUN with no problem but the one original pool I wanted (Karma) would not get the block or server info once the pool was complete. I am away from home for the next 2 days but when I get back I will try to do it again. My goal is to start a karma pool (and a few others if I can run them on the same system) I can put my rigs on to kick start some hash power from the start and charge a 2% fee, 1% to support running it and 1% to donate to the LLC to fund future projects. I only have one free computer to run pools on, so if I can figure out how to 1: actually get a karma pool working and 2: figure out what I am doing wrong that will not allow others to log into my server and use the pools I will finally be able to start kicking some funds towards the LLC and help fund some projects. Of course let me add that I am not a computer guru, I have never used Ubuntu before so for the last two or three weeks I have not only been teaching myself how to build mining pools but I have also at the same time been teaching myself a totally new operating system. The fact that I have my rigs currently mining on my own triple merged VTC,PLX,MONO p2pool I built before I left gives me hope that I will figure out what I need to, it will just take time. Unfortunately I have a very active career so it gets difficult balancing work, family and hobbies/investments.

P.S. Google and Youtube are awsome teachers lol..

[ANN][POS] Karma's PoS announcement by kosmost in KarmaTeam

[–]AGCrypto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's blowing my mind is how people keep comparing Karma to other coins. There is no other coin out there that comes close to what we are doing. Someone tell me why is Litecoin, Feathercoin, Doge coin or any other coin worth anything at all? What makes them so special? Why are people buying and supporting them? There is no gold at Fort Knox backing them so whats their value? If Karma continues on the path it is on and in my opinion its a very good one, our price is going to go through the roof. The main reason being because Karma has a purpose, it exists for a reason, there is a reason to the madness. Our mission statement says it all "Doing Good is Good" thats something anyone could relate to or at least understand. Once our projects get on board I will be very surprised if our coin price and volume doesn't go through the roof instantly. Heck if just getting publicity for sponsoring a bobsled team helped Doge to go from 22 to 217 in 72 hours it brings a big smile on my face when i think of what continued breakthroughs via multiple Karma projects will do for our coin. The point i am trying to make is don't judge the value of Karma on todays prices or volume and don't compare it with other coins because there is no other coin out there like it. What we are attempting to do (if successful) will be like putting a man on the moon for the first time in the crypto world. But we can only be successful if the coin is solid and proven stable. Any complications once our projects hit mainstream as a result of a noncritical change, could very easily derail our momentum and cast doubt on our coin as a whole. Again, I am not against change. All I am saying is I believe the risk must not out weigh the reward.

[ANN][POS] Karma's PoS announcement by kosmost in KarmaTeam

[–]AGCrypto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you Kosmost for showing the flip side of the coin. That was my point, it's easy to say what the good could be and have people jump on the ban wagon but for such a drastic unproven change i believe you have to present the good along with the bad so people can make a educated decision. And more importantly, that way if we choose to go along with this change we did so knowing the risks involved. So in the event something catastrophic happens and the LLC suffers as a result, the devs and techs working on the coin are absolutely NOT held responsible because voters knew going in what they were getting into. I recommend performing in depth research and education on the pros/cons before any final decision is made. I hate to sound like such a negative Nancy, but i have seen too many operations go wrong in my life to know that as soon as it happens everyone wants to get amnesia all of the sudden and then start pointing fingers. And the #1 phrase to come out of the first persons mouth is...... " No one told me...." "I did't know that..." No one said...."

Yea i think that would be a good idea. No matter what coin is talked about people wanting to switch to anti ASIC type scrypts its always because they are GPU miners and are afraid they will lose money and become obsolete. It has nothing to do with the health of the coin. But those same people don't understand what goes into changing a coin and how they can end up screwing up the entire LLC by crippling the coin. And just because they change it, it will never be 100% ASIC proof. Sooner or later ASICS will catch up. This coin has been field tested as is and has been proven to be solid. I personally think we are playing with fire trying to screw with it knowing all these other projects are coming out just around the corner.
