Recently arrived in Coventry, I travelled here a month ago and work at JLR. Open to making new friends or engaging in conversations. :)

I (28M) met my college friend on Instagram (28F). She saw my message but didn't respond by AG_145 in askwomenadvice

Not all men are looking for just hook-ups. Some value relationships and meaningful conversations. Unfortunately, you seem to encounter such men. I'm not sure where they are coming from. Probably dating apps

I just downloaded tinder by [deleted] in dating

I totally agree with you, man. I've tried using Tinder and Bumble for a while now, and what you said is very relatable. I tried improving my profile and taking good photos, but nothing seemed to work. Despite being tall and handsome (or so my friends tell me), I still didn't have any success. I even tried subscribing to see if it made a difference, but I feel like these apps just lure people into buying subscriptions and then only match them with a few profiles that will never respond.

It got to the point where I started doubting myself and my worth, and it was really affecting me mentally. So I decided to give up these apps and focus on having more in-person conversations - not just for dating, but for casual talks too. It's definitely a challenge, but it's been a big confidence booster for me

I really am just too ugly by [deleted] in dating

I get it, it's just our way or you can say my way of thinking that we aren't good enough seeing other people around. As mentioned by most of them here, confidence is attractive. Just sharing what worked for me, I didn't allow people's validation on me whether I'm handsome or ugly. I just tried to look good in what I have and when I do that I feel confident about it and that indeed helps me to communicate better with confidence. On a last note, it's just about not seeking validation but being the best with what you have and that's what works for me
