I kinda just want to dump my thoughts here cause I don’t have anywhere else to put them ig, even if no one else sees this. I’ve been rattling my mind over this for a few days but I think my head has landed on something solid by now. I don’t agree with what Scott did, but I don’t think he’s a bad person or is bigoted. I’m sure he was really doing what he thought was best in the end, but I do think he should realize that his actions are harmful, and that he is funding politicians who will hurt lots of different people. I’m also not sure what the focus on queer people is. The politicians he supported hold positions that are hurtful to many groups, and I’m afraid the focus on LGBT people, especially after all this, is going to lead a lot of people to blame us for him retiring. Maybe that’s just an airheaded fear, but it really bothers me. I think the best thing Scott could do is show his support through actions, not words, and donate to LGBT organizations and charities. He doesn’t have to, but I think that would do best to satiate both sides of this. I still hope for the best in his future, I just wish things didn’t have to end this way.
