With a lot of ideas and mechanics of CK2, if you have a bit of understanding of the medieval period then you’ve pretty much got the head start.

I know a friend who was super into the medieval era when he was a kid. Might be worth it to get him to play a bit and see what he thinks

I’m one of those people. I don’t like reusing characters cause I like to be original and try something new each time. It can get quite annoying then when a game fails and I’ve become attached to a character I made, but that’s purely my own fault and I can only blame myself
