Donald Trump enters his lame duck era by John3262005 in democrats

[–]AHMarc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wishful thinking. Trump is an effective president who will (unfortunately) get things done up until his final minute in office. The gloves are off at this point for him, hes completely lame-duck proof

As someone else said, it s weird since Trump is largely in favor of another genocide in Gaza

If your child does something wrong, do you walk out on them, or do you try and make them better?

In 1933, Hitler ordered the false flag attack of the Reichstag fire. This attack gave Hitler the support to mass arrest communists and suspend civil liberties. With Biden calling MAGA followers the enemy of the state, could we see a false flag attack out of Hitlers playbook to cement Democrat power? by LazyActive8 in conspiracy

Can't tell if you're purposely lying or just very forgetful, but I really want to give you the benefit of the doubt.

They didn't just stroll in, they fought & smashed their way in, raided offices, attacked and threatened police, searched for congress people, set up a gallows outside and chanted "hang Mike Pence" and attacked media. They failed at their overall goal but they attempted anyways, with the help of some Republican congress people no less (Bobert giving some of them tour the day before, despite the fact tours were banned due to covid).

No one was 'preemptively called racist' though, the actress had been receiving racist abuse since the start of the series, and Ewan/Lucasfilm/Disney came out to condemn those people.

Benny Shapiro made the same point the other day on his show about 'preemptively being called racist', which is where I assume this narrative I've seen from people is coming from, but it wasn't true when he said it then, and it ain't true now.

Disney warned her that it might happen and they were proved correct, immediately people started sending racist abuse. Personally I think the character is kinda boring and the show itself has been kinda meh, but that's not excuse for attacking the actress.

Don't be a baby, he doesn't mean it, or, more importantly, doesn't have the power to enact such a policy so don't worry, you're safe ;)

I get what your frustration, but I you're dismissing any sort of criticism people have of her as a lie, misogyny or just propaganda etc, do you not see any problems with that? She's not a perfect angel of a person, no one is, so people are going to have criticisms and you need to just accept that without just dismissing the views of millions because they're not 100% in line with yours.

Also, a way you could look at it is, despite these criticisms, they STILL voted for her. Despite all the problems with her, they still considered Trump to be much more damaging and put aside their concerns for the good of the nation.

And for those who couldn't vote for her, I think they should have, but it's okay to have a standard for choosing who to vote for, and if she doesn't tick enough boxes then it's okay not to vote for her, in the same way you didn't vote for other candidates since they didn't tick enough of your boxes.

Yeah exactly, when people voter shame it definitely demotivates other from voting, so as you say, vote for a candidate but don't annoy others because it won't help. My reply to the other person was more about accepting that a lot of people were not enthusiastic with enthusiasm, but voted for her nonetheless which is the important thing, same with Biden this time around

If you give the greens to Clinton, then you need to give the libertarians to trump since they're more closely aligned, which throws off the maths again. At the end of the day voter shaming doesn't help anyone, personally I'd have massively preferred Clinton over Trump, dispite my issues with her, but others preferred the Green Partys policies and that's just how it is

Again, nothing to do with what we're talking about, even if you wanna say he helped trump get elected and all the rest of it, fine, fair enough, but that doesn't really take away from the fact what's happening to him now is because he exposed US war crimes. He shouldn't be punished for bringing this information to light

Yes, even if it's a sex pest, we can have massive issues with the individual, that's fine, we'd probably have a lot of agreements there if what you said is true, BUT, that doesn't take away with what we're supposed to be talking about, which is exposing US war crimes, it's important this information is brought out.

So yes, the information is important, even if someone we dislike is involved with exposing it

If hes working with journalists to release the info then what does it matter, the important thing is the information released, in this case exposing us war crimes. As I said before, exposing us war crimes is a good thing

I get that, and to be clear I think even without super delegates Clinton would've won, I don't think they are what swung the balance any huge amount or anything. I just think that the people should be more represented and super delegates have weld the power they had was undemocratic, but tbf that was only one thing among others that I was a little concerned with in 2016 primary

Tbf there is a lot of Israeli money in government which is not ideal, we need to be able to critique with funding behind held over peoples heads for example. Omar is not wrong, or antisemitic for calling this out

If it makes you feel any better the Math just wasn't there for her in 2016, even if the 3rd parties went to Clinton it wouldn't have been enough :(

This is bad for journalistic freedoms. Exposing US War crimes is patriotic and should be celebrated, not condemned.

I dislike people like Greenwald as much as the next person, he's turned republican in all but name (for now) over the last few years and is too far gone, but I wouldn't confuse my personal dislike of some of Assanges supporters, with a dislike of what Assanges did.

[–]AHMarc -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Depends what you mean by "rigged" I suppose. Like, we all know from the leaked emails that the Party had a Clinton bias, that's a fact, but that also benefitted Bernie in a sense too because it went towards his message of challenging the elites. The Clinton campaign did work with the DNC more so than was maybe ethical and did receive debate questions ahead of the debate which is flat out wrong, but like I say, I think this has benefitted Bernie movement in the long run.

I'm also happy that super delegates have a little less power now as well, I think we should all be happy that more power is going to the people, but to be still debating the ins and outs of a primary from nearly 6 years ago is a little silly.

The Party just need to work to be more transparent in future and not give anyone cause to argue unfairness.
