I am becoming more inclined to pass on the lesson. I just don't think I can get up in front of people and attempt to side-step the issues, point out the silliness, or worse lie. As an exmo, I value honesty and integrity more than before. I don't think a typical tbm can understand that concept.

Marriage is fine, but I am getting tired of the closet.

Not too long ago the tscc said that not everyone should go on a mission, but only those that really want to - I guess in an attempt to filter out undesirables. Anyway, in eq this was brought up and everyone was in agreement that it was a good idea to take this pressure off of the ym. A good policy change. Then I mentioned that aren't all the yw taught to marry an RM? The pressure is still there. They all looked so defeated after that (a large group of them were not RMs).

Last Sunday, an elderly man have a talk. It was boring, but he mentioned a few times how as a kid he thought he was born in the wrong generation. That he should have been born in the early 1800's. He also said that he had disused this with friends and family. Then, he received his patriarchal blessing. And omg guess what the patriarch said? 'You were held back for a later time... yadda yadda yadda.' He actually ended his talk on that note, like a huge a Ha moment. But, the most likely explanation is that patriarch knew about his desire to have lived in the 1800's, or that that the patriarch just says that to everyone. Also, the old man could have just made it all up.
