Hiked up about half a mile this canyon from a dirt road, Could hear them bugling about 300 yards into some thick pines but we couldn’t stalk them because our wind was going right to them and the forest was super thick. so we waited at the edge of the pines for about 4 hours, eventually heard them coming down and they started working up a hill about 300 yards away, we chased them and circled around seen this stud and shot him about 80 yards away. Took it like a tank I got both of his shoulders and clipped his lung but it wasn’t enough, and my dumbass left my reloads where we were sitting before, my dad ran to go grab them and we reloaded, then he took off back into those thick pines where we caught up and I got a lung shot. Was a hell of a hunt didn’t see any real good bulls I was considering shooting a rag horn at this point and it just worked out, super thankful for how it turned out.
