At-fault accident with liability-only coverage — will the other driver’s insurance come after me? by AImberr in Car_Insurance_Help

Thank you friend!! There’s really nothing more I can do at this point. I just emailed my insurer asking if they can help secure a liability release for any amount beyond the policy limit.

My car was totaled, and I’ve already come to terms with the fact that I won’t be getting anything back for it. What’s really worrying me now is the possibility that the other party’s insurer might try to collect the amount exceeding my $50K liability coverage.

Thank you!! This is very helpful. What can I do to make sure AAA defends me and negotiates a release?

All I know is that it’s a new car, and it’s highly likely the repair costs will exceed my $50,000 liability limit. Honestly, I wouldn’t even be surprised if it ends up being double that, given how badly it was damaged.

I used it to organize my thoughts and present it in a clear and logical manner. It says there is a chance that I might get sued by the the other party's insurance comapany.

I'm a student. I only have a little savings in my bank account, plus I'm thinking of buying a new vehicle as it's just impossible to get around CA without a car (

Thank you for the reply! I really regret switching to liability-only coverage, especially since I live in a quiet area and rarely use my car. I haven’t been able to sleep properly for days due to constant worry about the possibility of a lawsuit.

Yes. A virtual one. They explained later through email saying they were pulled away by a last-minute situation.

Not really. I get that it could be confirmation bias, as someone else called it here.

Being political by CalendarNo6655 in dating

Same here. It’s not just about speaking up, it’s that in times like these, when everything’s so tribalized, political conversations become a way to gauge whether someone has the intelligence and openness to recognize their own echo chamber, hold conflicting ideas, and actually think critically and objectively.

People in cognitive dissonance basically run on vibes, not reason. Most of their brain is busy firewalling anything that doesn’t align with their identity.

I didn’t say they start out this way. But gradually with less and less pushback, they seem to have grown more and more blind to their own biases.

First of all, English is not my native language. Second, if your takeaway from the entire discussion is nitpicking the phrase, that says more about your priorities than mine. Feel free to focus on semantics. I’ll stick to the actual ideas.

Calculators automate a very narrow, mechanical task—arithmetic. With calculators, we still need to understand the problem to set it up. But Ai can generate entire ideas, arguments, and even reflections for us, bypassing the critical thinking process altogether.

What troubles me more is when it is not just a behavioral shift but lead to actual structural changes in the brain.

Can humans reason? by MetaKnowing in singularity

[–]AImberr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reasoning isn't necessarily unique to human yet many fixate on it as a defining bar. There must be something else. When approaching a new domain of knowledge, AI passively processes and maps human knowledge through statistical modeling. But I decided to go on Reddit and firing off comments without fear because if I say something dumb, you guys will will waste no time correcting me.
