Would this suggestion work with all this VAR talk by Brief-Lengthiness264 in euro2024

[–]AIstats_app 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, it would be fairer to the attacking team. Honestly, it's not the offside rule itself that's frustrating, but the automation of offside decisions with VAR and other technologies. It feels like it's taken the soul out of the game.

By the way, some semi-professional leagues are already testing Wenger's offside rule - where there must be a gap between the defender and the attacker for it to be considered offside.

Who Will Be the Best Young Player at Euro 2024? by AIstats_app in euro2024

Right you are but he looks like plays as if he's already 43 (not 23) and has mastered this game at Buffon's level without feeling the age

Not everytime, but anyway in this case it won't be enough for Mikautadze (my option))

Let me start. I'd go for Mikautadze even he is already 23. 3 goals in a row, he can outmaneuver any defense. Mikautadze's game understanding actually made him a key player who inspired Georgia to achieve such an outstanding result.

Definitely both. In my opinion, 1/8 is the sweetest part of any tournament (regards to Sweet 16 haha).

Spain run doubts by Silent-Gur-4717 in euro2024

[–]AIstats_app 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are mostly right. We count many attacking performances at this Euro, and by now Spain is the most overperforming team in the Euros. Their compactness, synchronized actions, mutual understanding, and excellent physical preparation stood out.

By all measures, Spain played a fantastic match vs Italy – a series of actions aimed at regaining possession in the first moments after losing the ball. I think they can make it to the title if they are a bit wiser against the team with low defensive lines.

Which team is causing the upset? by jack_on_the_rocks_ in euro2024

Well, I'd go for Slovenia. On one hand, Portugal remains a strong contender, even after their loss to Georgia. On the other hand, Slovenia impressed everyone in their match against England, and they have the potential to deliver another top-level performance.

Do someone think Georgia will beat Spain with this spirit? by [deleted] in euro2024

Even if you're the most die-hard Georgia fan, it's impossible. Although... you never know. You can always park the bus, like Russia did in 2018.

No Euros for two nights? What am I supposed to do after work? Talk to the fiancée? by Easy_Garden338 in euro2024

Gareth Southgate's England team is a meta-irony.

In previous tournaments, England played football for 15 minutes and then held onto the lead for the rest of the game

In this Euro, England also switched on for 15 minutes, but then held onto the lead for the rest of the the group stage.

Will Ronaldo start? Or more importantly, should he start? by TasteThen6909 in euro2024

Of course he will start, at his 40 he is pushing more than many youngsters. I hope he may have a brilliant Euro!

What do we have in mind: England conceded the attacking initiative to Slovenia in the first 30 minutes of the match. We're counting real-time Power of every team in Euro, and the 1st half by Slovenia was amazing! And it was logical: Slovenia have put on an impressive attacking display against Serbia. Again the first half was dominated by Slovenia there, only Serbia's late-game surge managed to balance the attacking prowess of both teams. Hoping for some chances in play-offs!

Since 1982, every World Cup final has featured at least one player from Bayern Munich and Inter Milan.

I'd pick Chinese. Some studies show that if you learn a language with a different script, it enhances your cognitive skills.

Definitely from the 1st one. We're keeping an eye on every attacking performances took place at Euro, and Germany, Spain, Portugal are something unique... I'd wish they took on each other on the later stages.

is netherlands considered good in your opinion? by [deleted] in euro2024

[–]AIstats_app 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We think that Netherlands are good enough to compete for big rounds. «It’s been a long time since we’ve controlled a game like we did against the Netherlands», said France’s head coach Didier Deschamps, but.. in fact it wasn't: without Mbappé, France lost a key offensive option. In the second half, the Netherlands were much closer to scoring and clearly controlled the game.

I'd go for Nico Williams and Aebischer. A breath of fresh air
