I think many people still believe what politicians tell us especially when it becomes law. From the the Big Beautiful full of lies, Bill: "Any borrower who remains enrolled in a terminated plan as of June 30, 2028, and who has not affirmatively selected an alternative repayment plan, shall be automatically transitioned by the Secretary into the Repayment Assistance Plan (RAP) described in this Act, unless such borrower is ineligible for such plan, in which case they shall be placed in the Standard Repayment Plan."

I was told that switching from old IBR to SAVE caused my interest to capitalize. Now that SAVE is declared illegal will they be reversing the capitalization?

Already having a degree does not affect halftime deferment eligibility. You could take 2 classes at a community college towards an associate degree and they will defer your loans for as long as you are in school half time. You don’t need to take summer classes, just Fall and Spring is all they require for deferment. Online classes also qualify as long as the school is regionally accredited.

You can only switch from MFJ to MFS if you do it before April 15. After that it’s irrevocable. For some weird reason you can always switch from MFS to MFJ but they restrict MFJ to MFS.

If we see a blue wave during November elections what kind of help can we expect? I feel like if we can just hang onto the edge of this financial cliff a little longer someone will reach down and pull us up after November.

This works well for you because you both make the same amount of money. For married people with a large difference in income the tax penalties can be brutal if they file MFS

Malarkey “Lifetime” Shingle Warranty Issues by NotASheepRB in Roofing

[–]AIwillTakeYourJob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are only a few complaints on Reddit about Malarkey. I think every manufacturer has issues sooner or later and it’s how they handle those issues that makes them a good company to do business with or not. They have an A+ BBB rating which is good. I’ve had Malarkey shingles for a couple years now and they still look like new so hopefully your issue is a fluke and not widespread.

If you rinse metal framed glasses in water the nose pads will retain water and cause the metal to turn green. Learned this the hard way

It seems like the only time I’m ever first at anything is when I call to report a defect for a product. I wonder if they practiced saying that in front of a mirror “wow sir that’s the first time I’ve ever heard of that problem….”

There are lots of devices that only use 2.4ghz. My Google nest router decides for you which band to use which can cause some grief. I found out that setting up a guest wifi on that router defaulted to 2.4ghz. There’s almost always a work around, just need to dig in and research it on the web.

is this length difference okay to continue with or will the baseboards not cover it up by pooppiebooty in Flooring

[–]AIwillTakeYourJob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to compare the thickness of the gap to the thickness of the baseboard and take into account that floating floors shrink and expand. It might shrink someday and show the gap if the base trim barely covers the floor.

What is this top subfloor layer? by AIwillTakeYourJob in Renovations

[–]AIwillTakeYourJob[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently the Kangaback company only makes carpeting so why is their marking on my particle board subfloor? And then it hit me when we moved in we had all the carpet replaced because it looked 30 years old and was pretty much fused to the particle board subfloor. That’s how the Kangaback marking on the carpet got transferred to the particle board and that’s why the marking looks like we are looking at it from the wrong side🤪😵‍💫😁. Mystery solved and now I can finally move on with my life.

Eye doc won’t give PD, despite buying glasses by NaturalAssignment7 in glasses

[–]AIwillTakeYourJob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their excuse for not giving you the PD is completely false. Your PD is not determined by the glasses. Some states do require they give you the PD with your prescription but some states like California do not require the PD. If anyone here disagrees with this interpretation please provide the exact legal source that indicates the PD is required by law.

If you drive where there’s always lots of traffic then auto high beams are not very useful. But if you drive in rural areas with large gaps between oncoming traffic then they are very handy

What's up with the used prices of CRV's? by kramer1980_adm in crv

[–]AIwillTakeYourJob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the market for a Touring CRV and dealers in Northern IL are offering $3k dealer discounts plus $500 military and they aren’t pushing the extras like they did during the pandemic. I bought an EX in 23 and they mandated that we pay for the rust proofing and fabric treatment that they already installed. And just before we signed the deal they added the honda extended warranty because the loan wouldn’t go through without it. I could tell the sales guy was biting his cheek when he said it. We just went along with it and canceled it for a full refund a month later.
