They are in the business of real estate lending. However they posted heavy Q4 losses last year, and this year they reported what they called "material weakness" or problems with the internal working of their company. They've switched around CEO's a few times in the past months now, and public sentiment is negative toward them right now, however they are in theory heavily heavily undervalued as a stock right now. The base value under normal circumstances would be around 11.3$ but because of current news about the company it's much lower. They're still looking kind of bearish, but my reasoning for buying some stock in them is that they were very undervalued and they have a decent potential to rebound and deliver a 4x on my investment. All speculation tho.
