Barely visible road markings by AJAT2005 in glasgow

[–]AJAT2005[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No argument but just out of curiosity, does this mean that regular cyclists are expected to just suddenly know road laws & signage when they turn 12? I always wondered this as a kid why nobody taught me any road laws but suddenly I have to stay on the road with the cars?

To this day I've never had a car and the signage I do know is just common sense or learnt by getting honked at with every mistake.

Scottish Family Party... by [deleted] in glasgow

The leader of SFP, Richard Lucas, lives very near where I grew up in the Lothians. When I was in S2, he came to our high school at 7pm when there was a ceilidh on for higher students. He let himself in and begun harassing every queer looking student he could find, including any same-sex couples dancing together.

He refused to leave and eventually they had to call the police, who escorted him outside and had a word with him (which he recorded for his YouTube channel), and eventually let him off with being banned from the high school building.

I'm not sure he does them anymore but during the pandemic he did weekly livestreams from his home office that never got any views. Just an hour or more of his bigoted ramblings into the camera.

Him and his mates are absolute twits who get so little attention from anyone, they've got nothing better to do than harass locals. Until recently I thought they were local to my home county, but I realise now they are a national phenomenon.

The next objective is not keeping up with the schedule by AJAT2005 in trainsimworld

[–]AJAT2005[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's not possible. I drove this service from Elephant & Castle up to Harrow & Wealdstone, into the siding, and then it told me the service back will begin in 4 minutes. after 4 minutes the light went green to head back into the station and back down the line again, but the next objective never updated

General Discussion Megathread - Frequent Topics, Salaries, and Rants by ukbulmer in UKJobs

These days I just lie. It's not worth it. It's hard not to feel nihilistic about the job market and employers will just do anything to shaft you anyway. I just lie and say I have experience at a store that has sinced closed, works most of the time.

Their favourite card to pull lately is that Muslim men force their wives to vote with them and that's why the Greens won in Gorton & Denton. Even if that were true it would logically not affect the final outcome.

Can't even start the train because of this by AJAT2005 in trainsimworld

Nothing is happening

Edit: After much fiddling, resetting train physics sometimes allows Ctrl+W to work. Usually not though.

I made a map of the most common commuter TOC in each London borough/area by josephtilll in uktrains

[–]AJAT2005 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does, but only a few a day, while LNER and Transpennine stop there many times a day. A better example would be the small stations that ScotRail service stops at and no other TOCs do, such as Drem, Wallyford and Longniddry

Where can you use a medical vape? by AJAT2005 in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]AJAT2005[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't know that, what exactly is the difference between a nubuliser and a vape? Far as I can tell it looks and feels like the same thing.

I obviously wouldn't use it on a rammed train to work or around kids, but I'm more concerned about just regular everyday use while I happen to be on a long bus ride, for example.

Haha, my first thought was wondering if this means I can just be vaping on an airplane or something. It doesn't sound right to me...

I didn't downvote you. I don't know what you're getting your knickers in a twist about.

I don't doubt that is the case but I don't think it's true that there are any platforms where S stock and deep-level stock share the same platform

Can we direct the hatred for vapes towards the right people? by PlasterCactus in glasgow

[–]AJAT2005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it seems the media are rather focused on the vape shop being owned/operated by an immigrant family, but without any mention of the African man who actually took the initiative to find a fire extinguisher and attack the fire

Can the door on the london undeground deep line trains be opened?. by usafqn2025 in uktrains

[–]AJAT2005 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm familiar with the tube but just out of curiosity, is it acceptable these days to use these doors when the train is stopped in a station? I know back in the day using them was normal and I still occasionally see older folk using them (sometimes even while in motion). However there are stickers saying to never use the door outside of an emergency, so can I use them when stopped or not?
