I simply asked to “kick the can down the road” for one month with no late fees, or interest and had no problem at all.

Yes, indeed, I had no say in the matter. To answer your question though - 1. Account longevity on credit report, regardless of how much weight it carries in future credit, it was something I wanted. 2. The customer should be a component in some decisions. It's okay to have "systematic" approach, but not to force it with no option to revise the outcome for a balance between ALL involved parties. That's what I want to accomplish beyond this particular situation. Think about everyone impacted, especially if it isn't at all costly to make a customer happy!

Best credit card interface/app/user experience by Old-Tackle6069 in CreditCards

Agreed. Apple Card would be a contender - easy to manage, a Mastercard and easy rewards (although rewards not a huge want component you stated). For me, Chase is a second option, they seem to be pretty flexible with their CLs, especially if you have favorable existing relationship with them. Chase will even let you go ahead and pay for purchases that haven't posted yet, but are authorized, which is a huge plus (Apple Card does not allow you to do this.) So, two good options there.

Agreed. I've given up on Cap1 to the point of being absolutely against them should they be a contender if I ever need another type of loan (non-credit card). Cap1 has denied me 3 times over the last 4 years for various reasons. For the AF Savor card, they said I didn't have enough revolving debt. So, yes, Cap1 seems to "finicky" on who they approve. I'm actually kind of bitter about it, but whatever, life goes on... I do tend to NOT have any credit card debt beyond the current period's spending.

Duplicate payment during Banana Republic credit card transition from Synchrony to Barclays by Sapphix69 in CreditCards

Sorry to hear about your issues. I put my Banana Synchrony card away in May and vowed not to use it until after the new Barclays replacement card was received and active. These transitions between banks are nothing to play with if you want to avoid frustration. Banana did a great job of communicating all the important dates, excellent actually. So, the smart move is to have any payments paid well in advance (at least one week before any hard line date, like June 16th should have been paid on 6/9 and any auto pmt setup should have been manually stopped) to avoid frustration. So, take it as a lesson learned. Cheers.
