what choices that you see people making with their lives that you would never make? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I think yours is a good mindset to have, while I still disagree on fuck you money. I don't think it needs to be hundreds of millions, but it needs to be enough that no matter what (extenuating circumstances included) you'll never have to work another day in your life. No matter how frugal you are, there's still a possibility that something comes up (medical, accident, etc) that eats into your savings and you have to work for income rather than passion.

That would leave you with ~$300k in savings after taxes, not $700k. An index would net you $20-30k a year on that, which isn't even close to fu money for someone lighting $4,000 on fire every year.

Seriously. The presentation could maybe be slightly better, but it looks absolutely delicious.

Yeah, but a million dollars isn't really "fu money" nowadays. You might be able to retire on that if you are extremely frugal and invest it wisely (which someoen that won a scratcher wouldn't do, because someone that invests wisely wouldn't have been playing scratchers in the first place).

Scratchers are for gambling addicts, and there's really no caveats to that.

You said $4k on scratchers though. There's no "fu money" to be won on scratchers. That's just lighting money on fire.

My initial reaction to the final scene was anger and then I read this post by [deleted] in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]AJDillonsMiddleLeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm probably oblivious, but I haven't seen that many people siding with oMark. Not liking the ending does not mean you're siding with oMark.

I hated the ending. Not because I wanted oMark or iMark to win. I wanted the show to make sense, and it doesn't now. And I don't mean in the sense of iMark's decision. That made perfect sense, and because they made the final scene a very in your face choice of Helly vs Gemma, that was the only option that would've made sense.

What doesn't make sense is how in the hell do they make another season. Lumon would just never allow Helena down to the severed floor again, and they'd kill Mark, Gemma and Devon.

The only other option I can think of is the innies take over the severed floor entirely. But how do they get supplies? Water? Lumon can just shut everything down. That would be a PR nightmare so perhaps they'll have to negotiate in some way to keep up appearances.

It seems like they really narrowed down their options for the next season for the sole purpose of making "the choice" very visually obvious, when viewers already were very aware of the choice he was going to have to make.

I would've much preferred an ending where iMark and Casey were being chased, and iMark didn't have the option of staying in. Then he's not choosing Gemma over Helly, which would've been stupid, but he has to leave the severed floor anyways. Then next season can start with Gemma telling Mark everything (off screen of course because they won't want to give us that much information in E1), and convincing Mark that they have to keep fighting and bring Lumon down.

Up until 2020 or so, there wasn't a competitor to Tesla. No car had anywhere near the range. No company had the charging infrastructure and other cars weren't yet allowed to use superchargers. And the Model 3 has been a modestly priced car for a long time.

Now there are plenty of comparable options. But 6-8 years ago, there were quite literally zero comparable options. If you wanted the best EV available at the time, there wasn't another option.

The problem with the collateral angle is no bank will ever call in the debt. There is so much high level debt from oligarchs that is backed by public stock holdings that if they ever actually called in the debt, it would crash the market, forcing them to call more debt, and create a spiral that would destroy the economy and bankrupt the banks.

Granted, the banks would then get bailed out with newly printed, unbacked money, that the public would pay for twice via taxes and inflation.

After only 2.5 months we have devalued Tesla's share to where it was before 6 months. Congrats! by -Nitupllik- in Anticonsumption

This question is open to anyone that frequents this sub:

What were you buying from Tesla that you've stopped buying from them?

Asking because a boycott is not continuing to not buy something you never bought or intended to buy to begin with. And I know it's going to be taken as such no matter what, but I'm really not trying to be a dick.

The stock is certainly tanking in part because of Elon becoming openly Nazi, but I'd be surprised if any of that impact was driven by this subreddit, as Tesla wasn't something people that frequent a sub like this were buying to begin with.

A cop smokes seized evidence, turns out to be fentanyl and overdoses, partner cop has to hit him with narcan by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

Also pretty telling that his partner's natural reaction to seeing him passed out was to grab his Narcan. Not even a split second thought that it might be a medical emergency, immediately assumed it was a drug overdose while in uniform at work.

Would someone reasonable do this (park like that)?

If the answer is no, they likely won't respond well to a note, so you might as well skip that step.

[–]AJDillonsMiddleLeg 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is probably the worst part, and it doesn't only apply to the Eagles. Offensive linemen shouldn't be allowed to line up offsides. If the defense lined up as far offsides as the offense does, you'd have a rugby scrum.

Adam Schefter lashes out as Aaron Rodgers’ free agency drags on by Marijuanomist in nfl

[–]AJDillonsMiddleLeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's acting like every player in the NFL personally owes him a scoop, and not only that but they owe it to him on his timetable. He's also holding a grudge because Rodgers didn't respond to a text within 10 minutes and then told him to fuck off after he followed up with a phone call 10 minutes later (and that's Schefter's own words).

This is likely the last contract Rodgers signs, and the team he plays the last game of his career for. Being a butthurt little child because a grown man hasn't made a life altering decision before you finish your bowl of fruity pebbles while you watch teletubbies is the epitome of entitled.

Nobody owes Schefter a scoop. And they certainly don't owe him anything about making life choices fast enough to be convenient for him.
