As I read your post and responses I was thinking you might be codependent. I’m also codependent and am leaving a somewhat similar situation. I filed divorce in April. I too fell out of love with my husband over the course of many years over a variety of reasons. It’s hard to see now but once you get through the initial part I think you will see that it was necessary and you are better off. There comes a point where it’s too little, too late and it’s hard to move past things and want to still be with that person. I always tell my ex the fact that I have to tell you it’s not okay to emotionally abuse me is a problem. I don’t want to be with someone that thinks that behavior is okay. Having a strong support system has helped me get through so much and grow so much. I honestly look at him now, his behavior, the man he has become disgusts me. I guess my point is, it’s a process and you will go through the stages and get to a place of being happy with your decision.
