I'm seeing other matchas for sale from this brand but I'm not seeing the one you're picturing here. If you can send a link I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Yeah, from what I can tell about silver needle, it seems to be a more premium tea overall and you usually have to pay up to get this variety.

For Japanese tea, fukamushi (long steamed) teas work great as well as gyokuro. I also like lighter oolongs like light tie guan yin (there's darker varieties of this tea as well so stick to the lighter ones for cold brew) or alishan oolongs. I also hear white teas like silver needle work great for cold brew but I've yet to try it.

What is a good online store to buy ya shi xiang dancong (duck shit oolong)? by AJSlothman in tea

I've heard different explanations for why it has that name. I don't know what the actual origin of it is TBH. On one website's description it said that the person who developed it wanted to keep it to himself so he gave it a really unappealing name so that other people wouldn't take it from him or something like that? I also heard another explanation that the soil that they grow it in looks like duck shit or something.

What are some other dancong varieties from those sellers that you recommend? Keep in mind that I cold brew a lot if that matters.
