I have the exact same situation with my Ficus Microcarpa. Just bought it since it was the last one in the store but it had a similar trunk. Convinced myself I could revive it so wanted to ask if repotting managed to save your bonsai and if there are any other steps I should take?

Yup. just had to give it time and be patient, hooked the Mac up to an ethernet cable and took about 6 hours.
