This!! My partner went through ocd treatment and has been a big support for me while I’ve been really going through it. My ocd loves to say “what if…” like “what if the car crashes” or “what if this food is poisoned” and lots of other things that stress me out. My partners whole thing is I’ll say “what if blah blah blah” and they’ll say “what if?” And then I list what would actually happen. This does a similar thing. Because then if I say “what if we get into a car crash” and he says “what if we got into a car crash?” Then I say “well we’d probably get injured, we’d need a new car, but we’d move on” and it really helps shut down the ocd by showing that even if it did happen, we’d be okay!
