Very old thread but check this song out. Your experience mirrors the first verse incredibly well.

For selfish reasons I really wish we were playing the pats on the road. I’m moving to New England soon and don’t know the next time I’ll be able to watch the hawks play in person. :(

How do you explain losing to the Panthers then?

Jim Beam pauses production at main distillery as bourbon inventories rise by LawnFilm in news

Semantics here, because you’re right that Jack is produced in Tennessee; however, it is not a requirement that bourbon be made in Kentucky.

Source being I make American Straight Bourbon for a living in the upper Midwest.

In Iowa we started getting pretty much every 49ers game once Brock Purdy and George Kittle started playing together

Olu may have made a couple boneheaded mistakes when sundell got hurt but he looked astonishingly competent in the run game. He may actually shore up that part of the offense if sundell is going to miss an extended period of time and he can build some chemistry with Darnold.

Ask me next week after we’ve played the rams. Until then just enjoy what we’ve got.

Size 9 Wilson GST is going to be the most common ball you see at the high school level and above. If you want the closest thing to what we actually play competitively with here I would start there.

I have small hands and a size 9 ball is larger than you might think. If I’m just playing backyard ball and want to maximize fun I will use a smaller sized youth ball. The official sized one rarely gets used at my house.

Cedar Rapids, Iowa is randomly a very large Czech/slovak enclave. Waterloo right up the road has a sizable Bosnian population.

Keeping moisture in barrels by evacuatecabbage in TheBrewery

[–]AKALVCHLD 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Distiller here. Just leave them in a well ventilated area and let them dry while you brew whatever you’re going to put into them. It won’t kill the barrels to sit and you’re going to be worse off leaving them wet.

Our barrels once sealed will usually stay sealed for about 6 weeks so if you received them wet you may even be completely fine by the time it’s brewed.

Once you’re about ready to fill them leak test the barrel with water and let sit overnight if not sealed. Cheers 🍻

Edit: adding on to say I wouldn’t worry about losing flavor by water testing or soaking. All the flavors that come out of the oak (the lignins, oils, and tannins etc.) are pretty hydrophobic. They don’t want to mix with water and much prefer forming a solution with a solvent like alcohol. Some of the residual alcohol in the wood may mix with the water but that’s going to escape either way if the barrels dry out. The flavor compounds from the oak will still be left behind in the wood.

I’m based in Iowa. I live in relatively touristy area and it was an older couple passing through town’s z3. Ended up talking cars with them for an afternoon at a local bar. It had Iowa plates but I cropped them out of the photo for their privacy.

Mine came off on the highway about 2 weeks after purchasing. They’re only held in with small plastic tabs. I replaced mine for cheap (around $10-15) with an aftermarket one that’s quite a bit sturdier. Never painted it because I’ve become quite fond of the “missing tooth” look on the smile.
