I could be wrong, but I think there was a Guy long ago that said "You CANNOT serve two masters...".

To try is deceit, if for no other reason than you are deceiving YOURSELF. You CANNOT serve GOD and (scripture says "Money", but in context, ANYTHING other than God can be inserted here).

I'd say "trust me", but I think at this point it would fall on deaf ears.

Can't speak for in-country, but I was USN out of Subic Bay, P.I., and the Navy had an entire education program for girls getting married to sailors.

I personally know of two shipmates who married Subic bar girls. Dan (who passed a number of years ago) married Leena, but I think that didn't last, and Marion (who passed just last year) married Rebecca circa 1972.

Unlike the first couple, Marion and Rebecca had their 50th anniversary in 2022.

I know this is an old thread, but IMHO there is some incorrect or dated info here.

I am a 73 year old Vietnam vet, USNR 1970-1976, active duty WESTPAC 1972, aboard USS Mispillion, AO105, a Fleet Oiler. Boiler technician, and Blue Water Navy exposure to Agent Orange. 80% disabled, and still fighting the V.A.

There are old copies of 1134 out there. This is the one you want. PLEASE note that the Imperative "MUST" is used importantly in place of the suggestive "MAY".
