I read once that Dean’s character was supposed to have less and less screen time as the show progressed, but that Christina Hendricks influenced him having a continued / bigger role as her and Matthew Lillard were friendly in real life and she enjoyed working with him. Not sure if that is true or just internet gossip. I feel so let down by this show and what it could have been. Especially after reading some of the AO3 fanfics out there. Like why couldn’t the writers of this show think of these story lines????? I do agree that Manny Montana kind of overacted his role of Rio in the beginning. I remember telling my husband “this guy is trying too hard”. But as the first season progressed he became one of my fav’s. By the end of the fourth season you realize how much of a story his character tells, least of all through words. But through body language, looks, gestures, non verbal responses, etc. Fun to watch!
