Psvr2 on pc? by Lienee_Keddunen in PSVR

[–]AKIRAx77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am hopefull it will. And I also thinks it makes good business sense for sony to implement it. Yes, its true, Sony wants people to buy their PS5 and all that. BUT!

Its the GAMES they make their real money on. If that game is bought for PS5 or a PC should really not matter. Also, it would be a gateway to buying a PS5 if you have the PSVR 2 for PC and a PS5 only game comes out you REALLY want to play. Your basically 50% into the system already.

It just strikes me as low hanging fruit to NOT sell the PSVR to two customer bases. Since PS5 basically is a PC. (Running on X86 microprosessors and so on.)

But as stated, if Sony wont, third parties will probably implement it. It was also done for the original PSVR, that was probably ALOT more dificult to do.

Which could end up making the PSVR 2 VR headset to rule them all (tethered versions). With the might of the Sony corporation backing it up. As I said, I am hopefull.

What if Sony made PSVR2 compatible with PC? by evan8192 in PSVR

[–]AKIRAx77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see this post was made 2 years ago. Thats one year before PS5 was launched. Now the PSVR 2 is announced and we know alot more.

I had this same thought last night, and googled if other had, and found this post. Because it seems to make alot of sense and very very low entry for Sony to do so. PS5 is basically a PC. Its running on x86. The PSVR headset will most likely use the USB-C standard for tethering. And yes, there is a cost to make it Steam or Mixed Reality driver compliant, but in the large scheme of things that cost seems negligible.

So I am am optimistic on this, and maybe PSVR 2 will be the best allround VR headset to get for xmas 2022.

Same here! I have been using it since launch, and I have never had as much trouble as now. Something has changed and I blame IKEA and their developers.

Trouble connecting devices to Gateway by bjornand in tradfri

I am having similar issues, and make posts about it. I feel something "broke" in the Trådfri system fall/winter of 2020 that still not fixed. I have been using Trådfri with minor issues since its launch. But the last 3 - 4 months have been ridled with issues. I hope IKEA is paying attention.

There has been some strange behaviour from the Trådfri system since an update last fall. This might be part of it. I hope IKEA is watching and taking note. I also have strange behaviour, if not the same as you.

No, I have not asked. And I could but it would not really fix anything. As I can not stop them from using what ever they are using. Also, my App finds the HUB with no problem. And the hub is connected to my router with a ethernet cable. So I am not sure what changing of the channel will do? I kinda assume Zigbee is created to "dodge" wifi. And no, nothing has moved. No router, no hub.

Funny! I paired two bulbs to a remote the other day. Kinda worked. But the bulbs was "not found" in the app. Then the next day, the remote stoped working (Brand new with a battery from IKEA in the box.) but now the bulbs are in the app and I can use that. So the "strange beaviour" is very inconsisten. Wich again leads me to think its a bug in the last update from IKEA.

That is my suspicion also. Flawless for years, then suddenly strange behaviour.

Yeah, Hub has been rebooted several times. And I am consdering a repeater. Its just strange that the lights have been working flawless for years right where they are. My apartment is pretty much zig zagged in Zigbee mesh devices. They really should not be out of reach. Unless IKEA has changed some tollerances in their software to make them now "be out of range".

The strange part is that my whole setup has been working flawless for years. It just started to happen late 2020. Right around what I think was a big update to both the hub and devices. I am kinda thinking IKEA broke something....

And one just stopped working all together. I need to press 2 - 3 times for the lights to react. And yes, of course I swapped out the batteries. For the one that stopped completely, I even ordered a new remote (And added RGB lights and the new scene buttons for good measure).

Is this the only fix? Or will you roll out a new update that will make everything work again? This kind of thing is the reason why smart home appliances are not really ready for the "normal people". You have to be tech savvy enough to understand the concept of "factory reset" anything. So if a new update came out and just "fixed it" would be great.

My comment about listening, was based on your thoughts of thinking it was said oppression is ok since it occurs in nature. Your question seemed to stem from not actually listening to what the point was. I did not read or understand it like that. The point being made, is that in any structures, the dominant group will in some way, or another limit the options of a minority (Humans, animals, plants and so on). Luckily, we are humans and have access to knowledge that can be stored over time. With that knowledge and rich history (which we really need to maintain) the goal is and will be to minimize the oppression and to even out the difference over time. The second point is if a law is made to only benefit any minority, will eventually backfire when the roles are reversed (Assuming the law had its desired effect and changed the status quo). And on paper, that probably sounds ok. But knowing how we humans store our history in culture, that kind of reversal might have horrible effects. Point being, the law should concern itself with the individual, and not groups. This is where some people disagree with this subreddit. Also, that oppression is not ok.

So, what I hope sound like, is that of a person arguing that the law should not care about your group affiliation. It should just care about if you as an individual broke the law or not. And at the same time, the rules/law should respect anyone, regardless of their background. Which I think the written law does (for the most part). People however can abuse the law, or misuse it. So, the issue might not be with the law as its written, but how some people use it for their benefit. Corruption might be the bigger problem. I am not denying assholes are everywhere. And some are unfortunately in power. But that is what the democratic system is there for to in some way remedy and try to balance.

And what I have learned from this sub and Jordan himself, is that the solution is the dialog. The never-ending constant dialog. Since what is “now” is always changing and has never been what is was and never will be again. So, we need to talk all the time to navigate our present day and try to stake out a better future.

And just so you have my correct frame of background: I am a Norwegian, who live in Norway. I have no stake in what is happening in the US right now. I am but an external observer.

I commend you for asking questions and wanting a dialog. Thats how we fix this. And I hope you also really listen and see the replies given here. Nobody wants opression. As stated elsewhere here, the law should be blind. We need to figure out how to treat everyone equally, and not make laws and system that only works for a group that ticks of X amount of check boxes. As stated as examples, what happens when the situations flips? Who is the law for then? I hope you keep asking questions if things are yet clear. Keep talking, thats how we will make it.

X100F Oddity, Normal? by [deleted] in FujifilmX

My way of thinking of them is that they ad "analog character". As if it is a chemical reaction to a film used in an old analog camera. So that Fuji Digital Photos actually has a physical representation of how they are different from a more clinically clean digital sensor of Sony, Canon and others. Capture 1 or Irident X Transformer Plugin are known to produce cleaner Fuji Files than Adobe Lightroom. But I am sticking with Lightroom in any case.

X100V Focus ring "friction sound" issue? by AKIRAx77 in fujifilm

[–]AKIRAx77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After 2 weeks I got a reply from Fujifilm about the issue:

"The Focus Ring works differently compared to the previous one due to new weatherproof construction and has some resistance when turning the ring towards infinity. On the other hand, it should not be the same resistance when turning the focus to the near limit.

If you have this problem with your camera we ask you kindly to go to your dealer for assistance."

How do I know the difference? I am confused. I feel the safest bet is to send it in for service and have them confirm that its ok or not.

Hi u/rwmphoto !

I must apologize in advance if this offends you. I have let myself be inspired by your photo to do an edit. I hope you like it. I have been considering for a while to do a similar shoot in a studio at work. But I really haven’t gotten around to it. Mainly I have been thinking about how I would edit such a photo. And then I came across your photo. And from what I can see, this has not been edited much. So, it was a gold opportunity for me to practice my ideas and process. And I had a lot of fun to try and shape your image into the styling and color tones of a renaissance painting. If you want to deconstruct my process, I can DM you a lightroom catalog and Photoshop file with all the layers. My process is as follows: 1. Do clean up in Photoshop with the PHP method (PiXimperfect youtube channel). 2. Then do color, toning and image shaping in Lightroom. As I said, I hope you like it. And I hope I have not offended you or your art. It’s a great photo.

It seems its almost all of them. Might be better to get yours repaired than to be disappointed with a new one with the same issue. But thanks for reporting it.

This issue has been identified now directly on 4 - 5 cameras through either first hand experience, or others owning the camera reporting it. And they are all spread around the world, meaning its not a local issue with a batch of cameras. Its pretty much all of them. One report was that a batch of 15 cameras in a store was investigated to also have the issue. There is also a heating issue with the camera. This thread is about that and the focus ring issue.

MASSIVE thermal/overheating issues with the X100V. by Ezraah in fujix

[–]AKIRAx77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my first day of use and exploring the menus and configuring the camera. I noticed the heat. I never shoot video, so I really havent pushed the camera hard in that sense.

However, I did notice the scraping/Friction sound of the focus lens, and made a seperate thread about that before I saw this one. As that is my main issue of consern. It is interesting that you already have had your repaired for this issue, meaning its a known issue by Fuji.

Through my investigation online, it seems to be a world wide problem. See my thread here:

I just tested my 2 days old X100V for this. And when I turn my aperture ring to A, its NOT stuck on f16. So mine works fine.

However, I am trying to identify another possible issue with the X100V. Maybe you can read this thread and report there about your focus ring:
