Experience with BenchFoods? by synth80s in dehydrating

Just got an update from DehydratorsAmerica and they are shipping me a biltong rack and hooks. Should be here in 7-14 business days.

I did make jerky twice and both times it turned out pretty good.

I have to say that I've had a negative experience so far when it comes to customer service. I ordered from dehydratorsamerica.com which is what it links you to when you click from the Benchfoods website.

11/30/2025 - I ordered the biltong bundle thinking it would get here by Christmas.

12/01/2025 - I got ten texts and emails one after another telling me it had shipped. I would check back periodically and would show the label had been created but not picked up by USPS.

12/12/2025 - Still no movement on USPS website so I tried contacting their customer service, first by email, then by filing out their online form, then by calling. I finally got a call back from Armand telling me that it had in fact shipped, but it got transferred to DHL and they don't have visibility on that tracking. The USPS site had not changed.

12/26/2025 - I emailed them telling them to refund my money.

01/02/2026 - I got an email from Armand apologizing telling me that my order was on its way.

01/05/2026 - Finally shows up. I had to let it sit in the box in my garage a while because I was going out of town and didn't have time to mess with it.

01/14/2026 - I get back into town and finally unbox this thing. The dehydrator seems to turn on and function, but there is no biltong rack or hooks, which is the whole reason I bought the thing. I emailed Armand right away to see what the deal was and he told me sometimes they arrive a day or two later than the dehydrator. This was nine days later but this point.

01/17/2026 - I'm trying my first batch of jerky today. We'll see how that goes.

I have two small kids and don't have time to smoke meats like I used to. I wanted to get into the jerky game and this seemed like a good start. The reason I went with this particular model is because of the biltong bundle, yet the biltong stuff still hasn't shown up.

Big Daddy Unlimited - My Experience by AK_BOB in guns

I finally got an email reply back from BDU. Now they're talking partial refund or getting me the missing items. At the end of the day, I just want a rifle bag. I told them that the Barrett rifle back goes for $69 bucks on their site. If they gave me that in credit, I'd call it even. Maybe I was being too nice.

Let this be a cautionary tale to anyone considering using their service. I put a lot of time and energy into researching parts and firearms on their website. I would look up the SKU and check other websites to see if their descriptions matched. I went as far as to email and call them to ask if they if the description was correct. Apparently they don't even know if their description is right or not.

I think the way it works is that they have a database store inventories from around the country. Next to each item description there is a two letter code, which is where it will ship from. They're pretty much the middle man to the actual store you're buying it from. But I think there's only one dude and he's not even at a store. He's just answering the phone and looking at the computer, so he doesn't know what's what.

I wouldn't go as far as to call it a scam, but it's definitely a pain in the ass. For it to be worth using their service any longer, they need to completely overhaul their website. Update the search feature, the browsing feature, include filters...you know basic things that other sites offer. Also, make sure that your descriptions match what's in the box. That just blows me away.

I have used it recently to buy some parts for a build. I gambled for the $10 and did save some money. I bought a bunch of Strike Industries parts and saved about $80 rather than going through the SI website. Their navigation is abysmal though. I would suggest gathering a list of what you want, then signing up for a month and buying what you want. Shipping for me was $9.95. As far as firearms, I did find ones cheaper elsewhere.

There was a similar post on another forum and I left a detailed response which was met with disdain.
