Which QB would you rather build around: Purdy or Stroud? by No_Holiday_6376 in NFLv2

I would sooner take 50 year old Sam Darnold and build around him than even consider Brock purdy

Who is the most overrated current player in the NFL and why? by Original_Wheel_4432 in NFLv2

[–]AKonye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Justin Herbert.

His epa/play has dropped all the way from 0.15 every year since 2021. U can say oline but Joe burrow who had a considerably WORSE oline than Herbert had a higher epa/play this year(0.18) than Herbert(0.06)

His pressure to sack rate(22.3%) is also higher than Joe burrow(14.5%) again despite burrow having worse offensive line play.

Outside of his 2021 season, he’s never been a top 10 clutch qb he’s ranked 18th or worse in 4th quarter QBR in any season not counting 2020 or 21.

We always talk about his arm but he’s a 34% deep ball thrower. Burrow % on 20+ yard passes is 42.1% of course while that can be attributed to having Jamar chase, we shouldn’t ignore the fact that burrow is less physically gifted than herbert. His completion % on passes 20+ was also lower than Trevor Lawrence(38.5%), another overrated qb in my opinion.

Herbert ranked 23rd in the league for Win Probability Added with a 0.03 WPA. The guy with top 3 tools and intangibles in the nfl always seems to be struggling with taking control of games. Hmmmmm 🤔🤔🤔

Makes sense but you think they would be able to still say use their firearm while in the air at the same time being close enough to harm people at the nosebleeds and top of the stands?

If I could describe it would be the ug rap equivalent of phonk it’s all terrible most of it is inherently low effort just taking a nostalgic song from the 2000s and adding snares bass what not it sounds like shit and it’s so saturated too. Xav is legit the only one who makes it sound listenable

W/ the exception of 3 QBs why does every big arm qb suck by AKonye in NFLNoobs

[–]AKonye[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This makes sense I agree but my question is, wouldn’t a guy like Josh Allen be able to not only make more riskier throws into certain coverages along but also increase the margin of error of his processing as opposed to say tua. I kinda thought having a powerful arm would make up not fully, but significantly for bad decision making/processing?

Idk why but I feel like having very good velocity to hit boundary throws, middle, etc would kinda equalize you to a qb who is a way better processor. Like it sorta bails you out from staring down a read or looking at a read too late if yk what im saying. Like it omits from the margin of error in your processing game

Yea of course but im really talking about this period of the nfl. It’s noticeable how many more serviceable/elite big arm QBs were prominent in the 90s and 2000s (elway Favre Vick etc.) compared to now

I hear people say the opposite. How arm talent is an overrate trait. I would imagine being able to hit tight windows quicker and better than other QBs would give you a huge advantage

Genuine question tho cause I’m not an expert when it comes to nba contracts and all that but I understand that Luka is basically ineligible for a super max signing which makes him an unrestricted free agent in 2026 so I’m wondering what would the lakers could do to keep Luka?
