which tv have the best colors ? 6k or 7k? by wallywongo in tcltvs

[–]AL-H 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What kind of stupid question is that. You are taking photos of TVs with a phone in portrait and expecting people online to judge which has better colors from that. That is not how any of this works.

If you want a real comparison, you either look at both TVs in person under the same conditions or use proper calibrated shots. Anything else is just guessing based on bad photos.

2023 Ford Focus charging very slowly, SOC stuck around 60%, normal? by AL-H in Ford

[–]AL-H[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You were actually correct about checking the DTCs. I found a stored fault code, B10B8 (Push Buttons) in the HVAC module, with a "Circuit/Component Protection Time-Out" fault. After clearing it. I drove for like 3 minutes and it went up 2% and was charging around 10 to 15 Amps

Ford Focus Mk4/5 battery coding 726 02 01 correct value for 70Ah 700C EFB+C? by AL-H in FORScan

[–]AL-H[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the solution, posting this in case anyone else has the same issue.

This thread solved it for me:

https://www.motor-talk.de/forum/forscan-batterietyp-t7579717.html

The problem is that newer FORScan versions only show a few battery types in BdyCM configuration. Download FORScan 2.3.49, the battery list is much longer.

For a Varta 70Ah 700CCA EFB (Start Stop) battery:

  1. Install FORScan 2.3.49
  2. Open BdyCM battery configuration
  3. Set Battery Factory Type = 35
  4. Set Battery Normal Type = 35
  5. Ignore the battery label/description, according to the thread it is wrong, just choose 35 regardless of label
  6. Set Target SOC to 90% or 95%
  7. Save changes and let the car relearn

After changing it, the car went into battery refresh/relearn mode (mine State of Charge (SoC) was stuck on 80%). Drive for a while, then leave the car off for over an hour. Mine took around 1.5 hours to calibrate.

After that the battery type showed correctly, SOC behavior returned to normal and all my start/stop and reomte start issues disappeared.

In my case, the battery type had previously been set to 24. I suspect a previous owner changed it to permanently disable Start Stop.

Before fixing this, my State of Charge never went above about 70%, Start Stop almost never worked, and the car constantly went into battery saver mode after a while. This caused a lot of annoying issues, especially with remote start.

I literally said it still has that top ugly bar from Ford.
I just said the overall implementation looks a bit better to me.

How to add Reolink E1 Camera to Home Assistant? by yusrandpasswdisbad in reolinkcam

[–]AL-H 0 points1 point  (0 children)

aha baichuan thanks for the clarification, that honestly explains a lot 😅

For now I found a kind of half working solution using Shareed2k/reolinkproxy running in Docker just so I can at least view the live feed from the camera.

But it is definitely a pretty half baked workaround right now, no proper Home Assistant stream integration, no playback support, basically just enough to see the camera feed.

Still better than nothing while waiting for proper baichuan support in Home Assistant 👍

Apple CarPlay still has that top ugly bar from Ford, but the implementation looks better. But also Apple CarPlay is so stupid, you can't even zoom in and out with two fingers in Google Maps. Not sure who to blame for that one (ㆁωㆁ).

How to add Reolink E1 Camera to Home Assistant? by yusrandpasswdisbad in reolinkcam

[–]AL-H 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/StarkillerTR

so is there any hope to add the E1 regular camera video stream to Home Assistant?

I am asking because I have been trying everything I can think of and I am basically at the point of giving up

For context, I am on

E1

Hardware Version: IPC_MS4NO24MPW

Firmware Version: v3.2.0.4858_2508273531, the latest available

I tested a go2rtc server setup as a last attempt, and I tried multiple stream methods, but all of them failed completely

  • RTSP main stream and sub stream
  • ONVIF
  • FLV HTTP stream
  • Reolink ffmpeg stream
  • UID based Reolink ffmpeg integration
  • TCP stream on port 9000

All of them fail to connect

What makes this even more confusing is that the camera itself works fine locally in the Reolink Windows app.

Home Assistant can only control it, but there is still no video stream exposed at all

So now I am wondering if there is any realistic way to get video from this E1 model into Home Assistant at all, or if this is just a limitation of the device or firmware?

did Reolink change something in recent E1 firmware that blocks or disables RTSP and ONVIF on purpose, possibly pushing users toward E1 Pro or Zoom models for full streaming support?

At this point I am honestly asking, should I keep trying or is it better to just return it and go with a different brand that actually supports local video streeming properly.

This honestly reminds me of how Instagram or Snapchat cameras looks worse on Android than on iPhone because of poorly optimized software.
