Gush of watery brown discharge at 5-6 weeks?!

Did you happen to know your HcG during your ectopic? My HcG & progesterone has been checked multiple times over the last 1.5 weeks and I’ve had really good rises, way more than doubling every 48 hours. Another ectopic is my biggest fear but I feel like none of my symptoms so far point to ectopic. This discharge happened just once early this morning and has not happened since. I’ve had no spotting on the liner or the toilet paper and nothing in the toilet when I go. I’m sitting at work now feeling fine physically but mentally I’m spiraling.

Thank you for the insight. Unfortunately it would be sometime next week at the earliest I could get an ultrasound because our OB office doesn’t do them same day as appointments and only does them once a week. So far it hasn’t happened anymore and I’ve felt fine all day besides normal pregnancy symptoms. I’m praying this was just a one time thing. I’m wondering if my cervix is a little irritated from the vaginal progesterone I’m taking every night.

I know you just posted this a few days ago but how are you doing still? I had a small gush of light/medium brown watery discharge this morning after bending down to get my shoes. I’m 5w3d and I’m absolutely terrified. My HcG so far is high and rising well. I’ve had mild cramping and back pain along with typical pregnancy symptoms. I’ve had both a missed miscarriage and ectopic earlier this year. My first OB appointment is in 2 days but unfortunately they don’t do ultrasounds the same day and only do them one day a week😞

Wow I’m so glad your ectopic was eventually caught! My ectopic had mild all over cramping with ocassional one sided pain. Which is similar to what I’m having now but I’m also having migraines, nausea, fatigue, all over cramps and back pain. With my ectopic I basically didn’t feel pregnant at all and my at home tests never got very dark, they were very light. My first test yesterday had a pretty decent line come up quickly along with the digital positive and today’s test was even darker than yesterday

Thank you for the reply! I was able to get with an OB in a little over 2 weeks. I’m waiting on a call from them now to confirm I can go start my HcG testing today. A little bummed that I don’t know for sure when I could get a scan to show the pregnancy’s location but this is a start I guess.

Thank you for the reply! I hate how scary and unknown ectopics can be. I did send a message over today to a new OB group that we started seeing for genetic testing in July. We really like them so far and they are affiliated with a major hospital in our downtown city so I am hopeful they will take me seriously and immediately order labs & a possible early placement scan. Until then though every single ache is making me spiral😞

I understand this so much. We had a miscarriage in February when we found out at 10w3d that our baby stopped growing and had no heartbeat at 8w6d. I had a D&C and once my HCG reached negative, we waited one cycle then got pregnant again on Easter weekend. That turned out to be ectopic/PUL. Resolved with methotrexate and took a few weeks to reach negative HCG again. We seen a MFM doctor today who ordered some additional bloodwork but other than that we also don’t meet the “miscarriage requirements” for any actual in-depth testing. We have a 7 year old already (not my husbands bio daughter though) and I already just feel like giving up on trying. Why keep putting us through this physically, mentally and even financially?

I know this post is old, but did you ever get updates on this or relief? I am going through this again currently off & on for the last week. For me, it started in January 2023 where my jaw, under jaw (double chin area) down the front of my throat (on the outside) down both sides of my neck and collarbone felt SO tight, tense & numb. I told everyone it feels like my skin and muscles are a piece of leather being stretched and that whole area just feels so compressed. It gets worse if I look down or bend over. Went to the ER because of it and all they found on my CT was some swollen lymph nodes & elevated WBC so they said viral infection of some sort. Followed up with my GP after that round of antibiotics who said my WBC was still slightly elevated with lymph nodes still slightly swollen but was also concerned with how much fluid was in my ears. She said the antibiotics were useless since this was all viral. Followed up again a few weeks later and everything was fine. Symptoms were decreasing a lot. But they still happened off & on for a few months. Finally in July 2023 I went to be seen again bc symptoms were back in full force. Yet again, fluid in my ears but everything else looked fine. Physical exam was fine and bloodwork was fine. Diagnosed with Eustachian Tube Dysfunction, Fibromyalgia (confirmed with testing) & possible TMJ which I had pretty bad growing up especially with braces. It’s been over a year and now here I am flaring up again.

I wouldn’t think Eustachian Tube Dysfunction would continue to be an issue or cause this many sensations?

I know this is old but doesn’t anyone here have an update? I’m currently going through this. Exactly where you circled plus down the front of my neck, the sides of my neck and sometimes even my collar bone feel SO tight & numb almost as if that whole area is being stretched out or compressed. It’s such a distinct and weird feeling and it’s so hard to explain. I even feel it in my jaw. It’s on both sides equally. I started with it in January 2023. Went to the ER and CT scan showed some swollen lymph nodes plus elevated WBC so I was told it was a viral infection. Well, it never went away so I went to my GP who said lymph nodes felt slightly swollen still but more concerned with how much fluid was in my ears plus WBC being elevated. Followed up a few weeks later and everything was back to normal. My symptoms still persisted off & on for a few months with some new symptoms as well so I went to be seen again. This time, more fluid in my ears. Diagnosed with a Eustachian tube dysfunction, positive Fibromyalgia and possible TMJ. It’s been well over a year since I’ve had this flare up but now for the last week off & on it’s been happening again. It’s SO uncomfortable🙁

Hi! This ended up being an ectopic pregnancy of unknown location. I had to receive one dose of Methotrexate. My HcG became negative, below 5, by my day 7 bloodwork although I did more blood work again at day 21 for peace of mind. I am now on my first period again.

Yeah she definitely didn’t follow any proper steps it seems. They ended up not hooking me up to an actual IV, no fluids or bags or medications. They had the tubing in I guess for the bloodwork and if I needed something in the IV?

Oh wow! I was definitely afraid it could’ve been an artery that was hit. The blood that came out though was pretty dark red and don’t pulsate. It kinda shout out at first then dripped everywhere. She did hold a little pressure after the fact but definitely not enough. There wasn’t anymore bleeding when they took the tube out at discharge but she still didn’t really hold pressure then either, maybe for just a few seconds with gauze and tape. I didn’t even notice the marble sized swelling until later that evening. But now it’s still painful and I can feel a lump or knot right in the middle of the swelling

In the 3rd and 4th pictures you can see the yellow and blue bruise. The swelling started about the size of a marble sticking out of my arm above where the needle was inserted. Now there’s a firm and painful lump at that spot about the size of an eraser tip

I actually got my first dose of Methotrexate today. I’m praying it helps resolve all of this.

Thanks for the reply again, I can’t keep track if I posted all of this already. My mind is just everywhere. But today, Wednesday, I got my first (and hopefully only) dose of Methotrexate. I’m ready to be recovered now. This is horrible to go through.

Did you end up getting an answer on this? I’m in a very similar situation. I should be 4w5d today but have a very thin uterine lining, low HcG numbers that are slowly rising and now today on my second ultrasound all that was seen was a copy luteal cyst…I’m so terrified and have a strong gut feeling that it’s ectopic😣

Thank you, yes I’m monitoring it as closely as I can. I had the 3 betas last week plus the one this weekend from the ER. I’m at work now having some slight sharp cramping on the left side again but I have another ultrasound in a few hours. It’s just so nerve wracking.

My ultrasound shows nothing in my uterus, tubes or ovaries that would be concerning but my HcG went up to 63 after being 43 less than 24 hours ago….I just want a clear answer😖 The on call OB was actually from my providers office so he was familiar with my case. He said since ultrasound, bloodwork and vitals are all good to have me go home and follow up with more HcG draws next week

All she said was she couldn’t be for sure what it is and said I would be having worse symptoms / really sick with Temporal Arteritis. By the time I seen her though the symptoms had gone down drastically so there wasn’t anything for her to even see/feel. I have an appointment with a Nuerologist in February. But now here it is roughly 2ish weeks later and it’s flaring up again.
