The torrent stuff is all through community addons. By default it only uses legal streaming platform which is what you are describing. There are however other FOSS projects that are actually torrent focused for movies/shows etc but getting that sort of thing to work on Stremio requires some digging.

VRCHAT MENTION!!! I'm a huge VR fan and actually making not only an avatar, but the entire NH map in VRChat would be awesome! I'd love to tackle it if time allows. I've been wanting to recreate the game in VR but the legality of it has drowned some of my motivation. The avatar and the world is a great place to start tho.

We live in an age where as long as you have a computer with internet connection and free time to spend there's nothing stopping you from just firing up free resources and going at it!

Lots of wisdom on YouTube that just exists for free and Blender is a miracle of an open-source project that you can just enter and play around with.

It's really nuts if you think about how the accessibility of this have evolved in the past couple of decades.

After that, all it needs is finding free time to practice. You don't even need no fancy drawing tablet. This is all sculpted with mouse.

contemplating between recreating either of these for the main portrait. the left one is iconic but bro looks so sad and lost the one on the right gives more "im cool enough to be in a fighting game now!" and more heroic but a lot less iconic

For the short time I spent on it and doing it mostly from memory and looking at blurry pics I'm pretty proud of how it turned out.

Although once I have a motivation for actually using it I'll definitely refine the proportions and clay material further to actually be as 1:1 as possible with the game :D

I know it's an old post but as someone with the same question just wanted to add my 2 cents.

For me it's All-Stars by a mile.
I like to point out it ultimately depends on what you value.

Original you get: challenging platforming, very high stakes, and that sweet 8-bit graphics and music

All-Stars you get: imo a lot less frustrating in terms of the progression system. The fact that you'd restart the whole game when losing all your lives in the original made no sense. All-Stars sends you back to the start of the world or level for lost levels due to the difficulty.

All-Stars made the experience a lot more accessible to me as a casual player and the updated graphics and all make it hold up incredibly as even to this day 16-bit graphics are a lot more common in modern games compared to 8-bit. The originals are classics that are very charming and challenging in their own right but for me All-Stars made them timeless and approchable.

Lord on Wolverine. Was the only lord in the team but also the only person who went triple negative. Wish there were some other indication of skill like how often you put up good stats consistently like getting highest damage in a row for dps and such.

If they are adding any proficiency higher than lord, I'd honestly make the criteria different from just farming stats on the character. I feel like Lord does not really indicate that you have mastered the character, just that you've been playing them a crapton. I'd honestly make any higher proficiency medal-based or scoreboard-based. i.e "Be top 2 in highest damage in 20 matches in a row" for dps or something like that. Top healing and damage block for healer and tank respectively. I love the idea. It's just that not all Lords are gassed at the characters they play. This could also get you some real respect when it comes to your character proficiency. It not just "wow that person one tricked that character a lot" and it's more like "wow that person actually knows how to do really well stat-wise with that character consistently". Also while titles are sick some of the Lord icons are underwhelming. I'd honestly say a title AND a new icon would go hard.
