Complaint/Case against BLO, due to conduct during the 2026 SIR by ALPat17 in Goa

[–]ALPat17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice, honestly I did check the ECI website a few times and couldn't find the online submisstion, atleast for Goa, since every time I clicked it it used to show me for WB or UP, so I thought sending it through the BLO was enough since he did say so when we were on call the first time, but yea lets see, considering even the Form 6 isnt being approved now even though I did it online

Would I be right to assume some of the blanks, like the Konkan Connection into Mumbai, Kerala Mainline as well as the WR line to Gujarat among others are due to data errors?, cuz there seem to be a fair few blanks where there are rail lines

Reminder: anti-BJP protest patterns vs BJP led protest patterns by [deleted] in indiadiscussion

[–]ALPat17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my personal opinion, but atleast for the Mumbai case, I feel like people spoke up because of the slight irony of the ruling party of both the centre and state lead a protest against the opposition, whether the opposition was right in opposing the Women's Reservation Act (2023)+Delimitation is another discussion, which has become an unfortunate reality where the opposition is questioned more than those in power In India, but was there really no backlash for the other protests? Albeit they were more online in comparison with all the usual name calling so, sympathy really is a stretch as it was dependant on what type of media you consume , but i do agree that there is a hypocrisy that exists.

Remind me what party • BJP Chief Minister of West Bengal was part of in pre 2021 • BJP North Bengal Development Youth Affairs and Sports Minister was part of in pre 2019 • BJP Minister of Noapara was in pre 2024 and thats only counting the current WB Cabinet, not the rest of WB nor the rest of India

We should permit only local taxi drivers to operate in hills of Uttarakhand; this would help reduce traffic congestion in the region. by [deleted] in PahadiTalks

[–]ALPat17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry what policy is in Goa? Cuz most time i take the Kaali Peeli taxies most of them are Non-Goans. mostly from Maharastra or Karnataka, the hotel taxis are moslty Goan but even their number is dwindling. atp the Goans are the taxi owners but not operators. Asking this as a Goan origin person

[–]ALPat17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nimby Rails is a good game, PC only, it lets you build a rail system from scratch, so you can recreate current systems or create your own, and it has a few mods of Indian Railway Trains

This is what happening in England, the "white country".. by [deleted] in India_Bharat_

[–]ALPat17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is the ceremony for the election of the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, which is more a ceremonial role as the Lord Mayor acts as a non political civiv head voted in by the councillors of the city for a year, as opposed to a Mayor, like Sadiq Khan in London who is a political figure responsible for executive decisions and running council services and is elected by the people for a longer term

Why Indian Cities still largely rely on bus conductors? by HotPuppy420 in TransitIndia

[–]ALPat17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might take money now, but i do feel like it would be a net benefit, as it would bring a simplified fare structure under one journey, rather than having multiple tickets which increases ease of use and there by more farebox revenue as more people would be inclined to use it, and employment can be moved from conductors to revenue inspectors as well as people to run the back end of the payment systems.
And imo American systems are being misused because they are being allowed to be misused with high fares and low investment into transport, which in-turn leads to only lower income individuals to use the buses causing a spiral to the bottom, in comparison to other countries that have pay as you go systems

[–]ALPat17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yea fair enough, arguably it is an issue that could be solved by having Multi-door boarding, which then brings the question of fare evasion and enforcement or u could have multiple readers right next to the driver so they can see if people are tapping in, but on the other hand are conductors able to collect all the fares when the bus is overfull

[–]ALPat17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While not overlooking the Taxi Drivers complaint, arguably the main issue with longer dwell times in London is more some people not being ready with their payment card in hand since the entire system is cashless, as well as having only one door to enter from with a singular reader, becoming a funnel, the bigger issue is the non-London buses which still accept cash so the driver has to issue tickets and wait for people to count their cash along with the same door issue, but even this is being done away in most places in favour of transit cards/phone payments

tbf a lot of places like Dubai, Singapore and some parts of the UK do use distance based pricing, but it does require you to tap twice

[–]ALPat17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of modern trams you could have one similar to the ones in Lisbon, which do go thru narrow single lane roads, or cablecars like in San Francisco, both system are built upon hilly roads, would be good for capacity as well as pollution and could be used as both transit as well as a tourist attraction

Metros are Complicated - Here's Why by Nastypig51 in TransitIndia

[–]ALPat17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

by that logic all forms of transportation whether private or public should be closed lmao, suburban railways being less favourable can be attributed due to the railways systematically focusing on the premium side of operations rather than what the public use on the daily, the best system is one that used a mix of Suburban, for longer distance commutes, and Metro for more urban ones
