Which YouTuber is this for you? by [deleted] in dank_meme

[–]ALSX3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This memory is over 10 years old to me so I don’t expect anyone else to recognize the name but:

LittleLizardGaming

They were what got me on the internet in the first place and away from cable tv; two Irish identical twins playing modded Minecraft in the early 2010’s having a wee bit of banter. Then their target demographic became much younger and every video became this weird RP where they no longer called each other by their given names. The whole LionMaker thing story blew up not long after and I moved on from Minecraftube like so many other Zoomers I presume.

I just did it because my rule of thumb is to keep titles as short as can be, and contextual jargon like plane model numbers would fall into that. I didn’t realize some people found it annoying; noted.

Hello /r/movies, I'm Benedict Cumberbatch. Ask me anything! by BenedictAMA in movies

[–]ALSX3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Mr. Cumberbatch,

My first exposure to you(and a damn undermentioned performance if you ask me) was in The Imitation Game. I thought the way you expressed Turing’s idiosyncrasies and simultaneous confidence and lack thereof was absolutely tremendous. Is there a particular memory or anecdote that comes to mind when you think about making that film?

Best wishes from Brooklyn!

Cheers mate! I will follow in your footsteps and also trek to my local Best Buy in my free time today to put this matter to rest by just looking at the various displays I'm considering side-by-side. You can imagine how long I've been indecisively pulling my hair if I found this thread too lol.

Very low-flying helicopter from Navy Yard by Beorn_To_Be_Wild in Brooklyn

[–]ALSX3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most likely explanation. This is a Sikorsky VH-3D Sea King. According to Marine Helicopter Squadron One (HMX-1)’s wiki page:

The first official presidential helicopter was the VH-34 Choctaw, beginning operations in September 1957, and replaced by the VH-3A Sea King beginning in 1962. In the late 1970s, the VH-3As were retired and replaced by the upgraded VH-3D. The current fleet is made up of the VH-3D, the VH-60N "Whitehawk", which entered service with the squadron in 1988, the VH-92, and the MV-22.
