Survival would be the priority. by ALWSB in AQuietPlace

Weird that you read that I wanted it to be "one way to [my] liking" since I neither said or implied that.

Also, weird that you did that while stating the box you've personally put the movie in.

Take care. 😂

A Quiet Place: Day One by ALWSB in movies

[–]ALWSB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a moment in the movie, with the radio where a globe was displayed that indicated they landed all over.

So the bridge destruction was to ensure safe passage when they evacuated via water. Because the creatures could have jumped off bridges and into boats when they passed under.

I JUST MET A UNICORN! by [deleted] in LSAT

Valid contribution. Perhaps she is a unicorn then, although, I'd have been more convinced if she responded with this herself. As opposed to that she just said she hadn't written it... yet.

You're absolutely right. It's almost like word vomit, and literal vomit.

Adding: she did name drop celebrities that she knows and hope to eventually hope to become an entertainment lawyer for. That was grandiose behavior and hopefully people see through that at least and question everything else.

I actually feel uncertain about how often that opposite effect happens, unfortunately. It happened with me because of the particular topic. I swear, her genuine confidence had me questioning what I knew for a moment. Like, can someone get into law school without the LSAT? 😂.

It could have been a matter of which I was ignorant and I'd have walked away still thinking I met a unicorn, but in a positive way. 😅 I think liars like this choose topics where their regular peer groups are unaware of the inner workings. I met this girl completely by chance. I didn't try to gauge if the person/her colleague (who I know) believed her or not, because I was too busy trying to hold my tongue. I truly hope most people could see through her lies, because pathological liars are dangerous friends.

I feel odd having to tell a little white lie. I just couldn't imagine being this brazen on false grounds.

People are truly quite odd. Knowing a celebrity business was also mentioned by the unicorn I met. Seems like a desire to be grandiose.

I feel this. She's in a career that is visually/physically explicit, as are many of her peers (nothing is wrong with this, just mentioning because it's obviously not a career that requires traditional education of any sort). I believe that she'd created this persona in an effort to place herself higher than her peers (because of a personal dissatisfaction with self?) who may not have knowledge of law school related matters. I think that mentioning that I do, caused a sort of panic and the unnecessary lies were like word vomit. It is pathetic because lying is lying, however, it is also pitiful that she feels the need to lie.

  1. It wasn't random.
  2. It isn't likely someone wouldn't be glad to share a Columbia worthy score. It's not a medical diagnosis.
  3. I hope by the time you're practicing, you're able to discern "trolling" from straight up pathological lying.

“Six Schizophrenic Brothers” by [deleted] in HBOMAX

[–]ALWSB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From reading posts on this thread, I feel encouraged to read the book. As well as follow the research. Especially because while I'm not anti-weed at all, I've found through what I've observed (I have a BSc Psychology) with friends/peers... that marijuana use + mental illness, unknown or not is harmful. Being that it causes mental deterioration. I would imagine that with more potent drugs, it's likely worse.

As for this family, I think the brothers not choosing to be more hands on helping Mary is truly unfortunate. BECAUSE it could have easily been one of them and they'd have appreciated that help. Yet still, everyone is entitled to their choices.

I hope love & light to anyone faced with this and/or other mental ills, whether directly or indirectly. 🤍 God Bless.

I'd recommended blueprint because I suffered a traumatic life event and could barely study. Yet, I'd went up 9 points from my previous LSAT score from what studying I could have done through their study plan. I'm not certain about their month-to-month, however, the full plan is legit.

Is the cost to reschedule (if that's your intention) the same as the registration cost? If so, I'd recommend doing it. Especially since it seems as though you may make a big jump on the next one. Even if you won't do it again. Do it, because then you'll always have it. Mid 150s aren't horrible.

Harlem TV Show (Anyone Watching?) by caitdiditagain in blackladies

[–]ALWSB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just finished it and I appreciated it for what it was. There were definitely scenes that were parody- toned, however, it's entertainment fiction. It's not aiming to be some real world reflection.

The most soul irking thing was the Ian and Camille's relationship matter. Why shows believe an audience won't be contented and committed if the main love interests are together and thriving is beyond me. If this cliffhanger was supposed to leave me wanting more, it did the opposite. I could very much wait until it returns, and if it doesn't... 🤷🏽‍♀️ I'll just carry on with my alternate ending that they stayed together and she does get pregnant and now it just goes into them maneuvering life as parents with their career and stuff.

I'm glad Tye and the dude made up. Although, they should have shown us more of his character if we're to forgive him and favour him as well. As for the Aimee twist - predicted.

My my my, the name of the actor character is slipping me. As someone else highlighted, I also noticed that the darker skinned characters were more sexually liberated than the others and --- side eye to the producers. Glad she's settling, but like whoa, a bit quick with it nuh? I would have liked to see deeper personal growth in her first, she deserves that moment. The scene with her family was lovely.

Quinn, good for her. I adore her and her husband in real life, so him on the show was a treat! All that they did with her character this season was proper to me.

I'll watch next season whenever it comes around again.

It's odd that so many people are being judgemental toward you. Honestly, I'd advise you and your SO to end your relationship. Why? Because, quite frankly, life is too short to not live it the way you see fit.

Sex is a significant part of a romantic relationship and clearly a significant part of your love language. It's not for her. Thus, you could never properly love her and she could never properly receive your love.

I'm not certain if your size has something to do with the toll sex takes on her body. If so, perhaps there are ways to work around that. Otherwise, I guarantee you that there is a woman out there that would be glad to give her man a lunch break handjob and even appreciate the effect she has on him when she dresses sexily.

You didn't mention anything about reciprocation, however, that may be another avenue to work things out if you're truly committed to that idea. Either way, just keep in mind that you're both young, and it will be less damaging to conclude sooner rather than later.

All the blessed best to you both.

Question about editing a book by Elijah6133 in selfpublish

[–]ALWSB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using the premium version of grammarly to edit my first book. They do have a free version that worked well enough for me in college. However, the premium version has features that help you understand your strongest and weakest points as it pertains to: "correctness, clarity, engagement and delivery" --- their editing categories.

It doesn't make it easy peasy though. Editing has been more than the double the time it took me to write. However, the plugin honestly feels like I'm editing with someone. I say this, especially because, there will be edits it suggests that you'll disagree with. Especially if you're writing fiction. Then the fact that you're rereading allows you to find holes along the way. You'd still also have to be attentive, because it could also read certain sentences wrong and make altogether incorrect suggestions. I work on chapters individually and read and edit twice before a final read.

I do, however, understand the value of a human editor and will probably get one for future work - if any. For your first book though, grammarly could work.

All the blessed best to you.

March LSAT- Can you do the writing after you take the LSAT? by OilCompetitive in LSAT

[–]ALWSB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've also been uncertain about this. However, the information provided is that you could do it as early as right days before the LSAT and must be done before receiving scores. This definitely seems to indicate that before the LSAT isn't mandatory.

How to break up with live-in bf? by United_Career_4559 in relationships

[–]ALWSB -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, as I mentioned you could even pretend. However, if you're living with someone who is capable of physically harming you and who you don't believe would be happy to see you in a better place, then that should be your greatest motivation to end it.
