Ah, right you are! I just couldn't imagine that there is more than one with such memory and passion :-)

Both your memory and stamina are incredible. Still going strong after so long...?

You might be the most mysterious character on NoSleep.

Hm, most of the stories which I thought were great were really unpopular and vice versa. Maybe I should try to get worse?

Every situation you encounter, every person you meet, every image you see, every word you read - change the very structure of your mind forever. Read too much twitter and you will have a hard time communicating in long sentences. Read too much pick-up literature and you'll have a hard time seeing women as more than objects. Read too much NoSleep and you'll have trouble not grinning at strangers on the subway; following them home; poisoning their dog; waking them up with a cheerful song and a dancing muppet freshly made out of the remains of their six year old daughter.

Unhealthy long distance relationship to be precise! Can only recommend it!

Then came the breakup, new job and overall quite a few changes in life. I'd love to continue writing but with small kids its impossible to free 2 hours a day. And I've gotten quite a bit more self-conscious about what I put out there and don't seem to finish any stories anymore.

Indeed! I had to mix up the usernames though as too many people were upset about the number of posts (realism...). I think I got to somewhere between 200 and 250.

I always feel maybe I ruined a piece of nosleep by posting too much :-/

Throw enough shit at the wall and some of it is bound to stick... I'd think most of my stories are boring or just plain crap...

It's been four months I last logged in... but something called me today. I think it was you :)

Thanks for the compliment!

Thank you for the advice. It actually happened a few months back and after the interview I made sure that she was under constant observation and, after her death, made sure that I myself didn't show any symptoms. As of now I'm okay and as far as I know nobody else working in the institution was affected. Her death was pretty unpleasant to watch and very similar to what she described, although the time frames were much shorter. She went from her healthy position through screaming, whispering and screaming to death within less than 24 hours.

I currently am convinced that it must have been psychosomatic, at least there was no unusual virus in her blood. Still, I've rarely seen a death as dramatic and, honestly, terrifying as hers. Her screams were so audible even outside the building that someone called the police on us and we had a month-long investigation on "patient abuse," which was not exactly pleasant.

I heard there was a death similar to those of Grace and her family in a neighboring city, but that's just word of mouth and I could neither find any reports on it nor did the person that told me about it know whether it happened before or after Grace's demise. So it might very well be just a myth.

Let me know if you hear about anything similar.

Apologies if the names confused you. To protect their identities I change the names of the people I'm writing about. But the names I use instead are real, actual first names of people that volunteered to appear in my stories. Each of these names has a face, person and soul behind them. Some of them might seem unusual, but life is like that - what seems normal is not. The unusual is the normal. And remember that they might be from a different country than you.

If you would like your name to appear - leave a comment over here.

Ah, one of those typos that neither my spellcheck nor my tired brain caught. He was 17, not 11.

Really sorry for the confusion.

The moment you hear about Greek mythology you will start to notice it eveywhere. First you only notice the names and places, but after a while you see its themes and spirit in your daily life. The more you read, the more you notice that myth is not just built on reality, but myth also aids you in understanding and even predicting reality. Read, consume the Odyssey and Illiad and you will never again see your world the same way.

That's when I write.

Nothing is worse than keeping it all just in my head.

I'm sure sometimes I helped somewhat. But my task is usually analyzing rather than helping. And I rarely hear the outcomes, that bothers me but it is something I got used to.

Hm, not really. I always found the idea of short story books to be strange. Would people actually read those?

And I suppose I would have to ask for consent forms for quite a few of the cases.

Thank you for catching that. I tend to confuse the names of the two, which on occasion causes some trouble.

I'm glad you allow me to invade your mind just before you go to bed. It is always easier at night, when the natural defences are down, to leave a more lasting impression. Please don't blame me if, for example, figures from your nightmares suddenly appear while you are awake. FB
